Re: Push and ergonomics

Yes, that would be ideal.

Cintiq...please stop seeding potential seeds of gear lust - I'm happy with my Intuos 4 :D

Push and ergonomics

DISCLAIMER: This could be trivial to most, but to me it makes quite the difference. I usually work with Live at my desk, with a desktop PC and 2 screens. I've got all my gear arranged around this setup. My chair is quite high up, but I still find working Push from a normal (Push rested on the desk) ...

Re: Live 9.1

Yeah! The new Note step sequencer is brilliant. Fluidly implemented, GREAT fun. I come up with loops I've heard in my head but have not been able to fully recreate in Live . Add parameter locks to the steps and it reaches another level. Completely wicked. I've noticed they've also added the options ...

Re: What will I miss if change midi keyboard controller to Push?

I have a midi keyboard and Push. I am not a trained pianist.

Ihe keyboard is gathering dust.

Push is, as they say, totally wicked ,especially with the new note sequencer in 9.1.

too many reasons to list to get one, I'm at work.

I'll just say it's my favourite piece of hardware ever.

Re: 9.1 note sequencer

Just got the Beta yesterday. The Note sequencer is better implemented than I thought it would be. It's basically the piano roll editor but completely hands on. Scroll up and down the octaves/notes with the touchstrip, very fluid, or use SHIFT+touchstrip to jump a whole octave up or down. Think you c...

Re: Push - what can it do?

It's likely, but I don't know anything about Python scripts, nor have I used any for Push. There are many people around here who knows Python really well though. One script people keep mentioning is PXT. Perhaps that can go deeper into customizing parameters.

Re: Push - what can it do?

You do have different banks/pages, which in Sampler's case is already setup. You access the various parameters/areas of Sampler by diving in and out of sub banks etc on Push. Stuff like ADSR/ filter cutoff/res etc etc. You cannot set these up yourself unfortunately, you'd have to use Macro knobs for...

Re: Where and how do I begin?!!!!!!

Hard to get my head wrapped around the software. Any good tutorials to get started please? Frustrated! first off, listen to Tone Deft. Secondly, just follow the basics tutorials which should be auto introduced the first time you load Live. Ahhhh....I remember way back with Live 5 (coming from Modpl...

Re: PUSH -Browsing tips

Sorry drez, I don't know. Sounds feasible though, you don't have anything to lose, so give it a try.

I'm lucky in that I've kinda restarted everything from scratch, and have adopted Ableton's way of organizing things, so I don't have anything to move.

Re: Duplicate Loop?

Not 100% sure this is what you mean, but I use the DOUBLE button to double its length exponentially. You can then trim it down with the clip edit buttons if needs be. Just make sure the loop you want to lengthen is selected.

Re: PUSH -Browsing tips

I personally use the following method, which is not ideal, but I'm fine with it. Requires a bit of prep. I store all my samples, instruments etc in the exact "mirror" folder in the User Library. Let's say I've made a synth lead rack. I would store it in user library - Presets - Instrument racks - sy...

Re: Increase sustain?

One example: In instrument racks - Piano keys - Grand Piano. Drag that into a midi channel. The sixth macro knob is named "release". Release in this case is part of the volume envelope, which is mainly ADSR, which stands for Attack, Decay, Sustain and Release. Release is to do with how long the inst...

Re: Push is badass

I haven't tried pxt yet, but I just quickly need to express my love for Push. I am in love! It does what I want when I want and how I want, so yes it is totally badass. Sure, there are things I'd like added, which I won't bother to list now, but overall I've never felt such affection for a piece of ...

Great find! I picked up 3 of these at Ikea this weekend. They are solid and the angle is perfect.
Yup, I can also confirm that they are rock solid, and cheaper than a bottle of wine!

Yes exactly like that. Or the sampler's zone editor in the midi editor's place etc
