Step sequence control of tempo?

I worked on something yesterday that I thought would have been cool to control the tempo over a little more. Sort of like a swing setting but more powerful. Say the tempo is in 100bpm, but you'd like to speed it up on every 2nd and 5th note to the bar to 130 it would add a new dynamic. Unless there ...

Re: Randomize / Humanize Velocity & Quantize

12. Using Grooves already does a lot of what you're asking. While grooves are great — I use them always — they do have drawbacks as well. Like that lengths are affected, which may not work out particularly well for non-percussive material. And grooves are not like Swing as some people confusingly b...

Re: Evolving soundscapes inspired by science fiction

Started out with me trying to create something that reminded me of the movie Dune. The soundtrack on that thing is something quite amazing imo. However my music changed and morphed into something much different: https://thetiredhorizon.bandcamp.com/album/soundtrack-to-the-film-that-never-existed It...

Re: Evolving soundscapes inspired by science fiction

Just made a new thing last night. Deliberately chose conflicting notes, weirdly it seems to work

Re: Killing Moon in the Synthwave styleee

Pretty amazing. Could so with trying to push the dynamic between the verse and chorus a little more. The original kind of broke out of the verse with an impact. Yours is more level and controlled (that might be a benefit to some listeners). But yes, despite that I really like it

MIDI tool for creating drones of up to 8 notes

Has to be able to assign the note within a box, and be able to automate on and off somehow. This to me is a pretty important tool for ambient musicians, film composers etc. Why drag out notes when you can simply create a clip or envelope on a track and automate the on and off. It also needs to have ...

Ambient & Experimental music

Soundcloud appears to have gone to crap after the recent news of their layoffs and financial problems (deja vu). So for that reason I've been uploading video versions to youube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0tZ--5sEArg Krypton - slowly evolving ambient https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gygKxvkmriQ D...

Re: My Best/Worst Purchases

I think I can list my worst purchases as Waves pluggins... nothing about the software itself. Its due to the old PC HDD dying and Waves not allowing me to transfer the purchase over to the new PC despite me only having the pluggins for a week or so. Best purchase. Novation BS2. Soulsby Atmegatron to...

Re: New album

nice - i'm hearing bits of synths sounds that remind me of some tubeway army or visage. even bits of late 80's depeche mode in places. but mostly i'm hearing similarities to Coil - Scatology, how to destroy angels or Horse Rotorvator era. i've not listened to it all yet though. but i'm a longtime C...

New album

https://thetiredhorizon.bandcamp.com/album/cybernetic-electrodes Kind of inspired by human interaction with technology. Some of the tracks are older and have been reworked to fit in, but most of it is new material from the last year. Each track has a little description or expansion (about 3-4 words)...

I've done longer, more melodic stuff in the past, but this is different. This is more soundscaping. Thanks for the listen! :)
