Re: 2 new tracks using an Elektron Analog Rytm and Massive.

All over USB using overbridge. Enjoy, feedback welcome. https://soundcloud.com/noe-clu/pink I like this one, but your high keyboards are way too loud. They'll sound even better pushed back a bit in the mix. I think you may have pressed the Limiter or Compressor too hard to as you're almost cracking...

*COUGH* There's an echo in here

Re: Beat Repeat should have a notch filter (or attack env)

I think there is a lot they could do with beatrepeat. The other filters have the MS and OS sounds, shame this hasn't happened with BR. Same with the pitch and decay being pretty limited. A couple of M4L devices cover what BR doesnt but it would be good to have more native for CPU load Oh and I suppo...

Loop adjusting via envelopes no longer works, then?

When did that change?

You know the Autechre/Aphex "bouncing ball" trick? Set everything up in simpler as I used to, set the parameters but nothing. Just plays the full sample. :?

Re: I need some constructive feedback

Well there are other labels. In fact there are two in Southampton here (not sure if they're taking submissions though - Field Recordings and Sotones). Its beneficial to spread your music about as you might get some feedback that becomes the tipping point to marketable success. Problem with places li...

Re: Ableton reverb is not that bad!?

The Lexicon sound I personally liked was from the PCM 80 and 90 iirc. Late 1990s for the latter? Memory is a blur

Re: Ableton reverb is not that bad!?

I like the built in reverb, I have to say. It suits much of my sound. I also think you can really expand it by using a rack and splitting it into three different reverb settings and applying some gentle EQ and compression to either or all the chains. Outer Spaces and Convolution Pro are my faves. I'...

Put a matrix on Sampler & Analog

A matrix is similar to modular in a way but instead of cables you flick switches (or put in pins on older synths) on a grid to assign a controller to a destination. For example I could assign Osc 2 to Osc 1 to create bell tones, or assign an LFO to the pitch of just one oscillator. I've used matrix ...

Re: I need some constructive feedback

I don't think there is very much more you can do to the track without ruining what is already a really good progression and production. Could it be that Monstercat are not taking new artists, or already have acts like this? I don't know the label well and did try and check them out last night. Their...

Re: 3 tracks crafted with Ableton's powerful racks

Thanks! Yeah they're not suppose to evolve as such (although there are very, very subtle differences in how the bells were constructed, eg changing the stereo imaging of where things were placed). I learned from a couple of bands about using sounds as a palette through more than one track as it seem...

3 tracks crafted with Ableton's powerful racks

https://thetiredhorizon.bandcamp.com/album/sound-merge-emphasis Used a bell sound as a base for all three. Sound was duplicated within racks so the signal could be manipulated and panned out into a stereo field. Its borderline ambient in places but with complicated beats in others. I'm trying to als...

Went on an epic classical bender

After I bought a load of classical samples I was a bit stumped as to how to use them. Obviously I could throw them into any music and they'd sound great, but I wanted to create something special. I had been listening to Glass, Vaughan Williams and many more composers just before writing this. I thin...

Re: ElectroBluesSociety / blues + ableton

Big fan of the blues here. T Bone, Buddy Guy, JLH. 8) Listening to your stuff, got a nice groove! I've tried to mix blues and electronica in the past myself with varying results. "Varying" ...probably better to say I made bad tunes
