Re: Cannot record line input with Ableton Live Lite 8

I'm still shedding noob crust, but I'll offer what I know. I assume you have your interface setup in Lives preferences, yah? I use a Presonus AudioBox but I have to make sure to select the ASIO driver specifically for the AudioBox or I have no output to my Rokits. Other than your preferences and dri...

Re: Music Maker - Beat Maker?

Watch plenty of tutorials and read read read. Find what's best for you.
I started with all Korg hardware and eventually turned to Live. And I love it.

Re: Music Maker - Beat Maker?

That's all trivial tho. Depends on which era Daft Punk you want to sound like. My favorite is Homework Daft Punk. Then you'd need regular ole analog gear and need to learn it well enough to exploit the gear. Random Access Memory Daft Punk, one synth with vocoder, a talk box, one standard drum kit, a...

Re: Music Maker - Beat Maker?

A Dave Smith Industries Tempest and an Arturia Minibrute is what you seek.
If monies are an issue, Ableton Live 9 Suite and YouTube is what you seek.

Re: Controlling parameter changes of all synths in rack...

Thanks guys. I'll set it up that way tonight. Got on a Top Gear marathon last night. The idea of assigning each patch to mod wheel or to a Nocturn knob had crossed my mind. I just thought maybe there was a way to do it from the rack. But since reading the manual I have a better understanding of the ...

Re: How to Create Automatic Automation Control

Watch the video again. If I like a tutorial, I download it to my iPhone for watching in the future and so I don't have to constantly switch windows. Helps out a bunch. I have barely tapped Max but I'm pretty sure it's worth the investment. Mono sequencer is pretty awesome. I'm just now getting aroun...

Re: How to Create Automatic Automation Control

The only effect that comes to mind is in fact a Max effect. And it's called LFO. It's pretty rad too.
Are you sure the dude in the video wasn't using envelope modulation in the VST he was using?
Hope this helps.

Re: Controlling parameter changes of all synths in rack...

Having troubles with it. I didn't try to mess with it last night. I got caught up trying to run compression on a rack. Which I couldn't get to work either. First order of business is tackling both tonight. And I rtfm too. Lol. It's pretty brief on the subject.

Re: Live manual

If you have an iPhone at your disposal, email yourself the PDF and open it in iBooks. I have PDFs on my phone ranging from Live to Massive to EMX-1 to my condenser mic. You could always have it printed out too. Lol. It'll cost you around $30 and have a furniture dolly to haul the big bastard around ...

Controlling parameter changes of all synths in rack...

I have a super crunchy bass line that I built using 3 patches of Massive in an Instrument Rack. I'm away from my computer at the moment but am wondering if I can map parameters of each instance to one macro. Cutoff of all 3 patches all mapped to the mod wheel of my R3 for instance. Anything else I'd...
