Will the final release of L8.4 x64 be free if i have L8 ?

Sorry if this has been addressed elsewhere (I searched to no avail), but I really like to know the following: Will the final release of Live 8.4 x64 eventually be a free update for me as I hold a license for Live 8 full version (but I don't own Suite)? (I already understand that the development of L...

Unexpected behavior in L8.3.4/8.4beta9 with MIDI Channels

This may be intended behavior then. Reminds me of Cubase 5's infamous instrument tracks which can only work with MIDI channel 1. This was a pain and one of the reasons that drove me away from this app. But I see each app (also Ableton Live) has its weaknesses. Well, I'll have to work with its...

Re: Wrong behavior in L8.3.4/8.4beta with MIDI Channels

Just need to add that this is an ISSUE UNIQUE TO ABLETON LIVE and is independent of any special VST. I tested Battery and Massive in Standalone mode and they work perfect with regard to MIDI channels. As no one has replied yet and tested this behavior, I am going to call Ableton HQ later today to se...

Wrong behavior in L8.3.4/8.4beta with MIDI in Massive VST

Hi all Live 8.3.4 or 8.4b9 users and the Ableton developers or support personnel in particular. Please reproduce, using the following steps (You need a MIDI controller and NI Massive or Battery 3 or Arturia MiniMoog VSTi for this): 1. Create a New Set. 2. Drag any of the 3 aforementioned VSTi's to M...

Re: L9: Mapping a MIDI note range to a MIDI clip: Still broken ?

In this thread I have outlined how to reproduce the bug (a rather lengthy post):
viewtopic.php?f=2&t=137211
That thread was posted with Win XP in mind, but I just now confirmed the bug on Win 7/64 and Live 8.4beta8 x64.

Re: L9: Mapping a MIDI note range to a MIDI clip: Still broken ?

In some sets it works, in others not. There the playback of recorded notes is unlike what you hear while recording notes.
Ableton have confirmed the issue on their systems some time ago.
I will dig up the thread in which they confirmed it as a bug and link to it here.

L9: Mapping a MIDI note range to a MIDI clip: Still broken ?

This bug was there in L8 as a broken feature: The feature of mapping a MIDI key range to a session MIDI clip (for freely transposing that clip via MIDI notes) is still broken in L8. It is a feature highly important to my workflow (I am one of the many predominantly MIDI-based users). If this is not ...

MIDI: Transposition track with possibility to exclude clips

please ableton devs, that would be very handy: a global transpositon track with the possibility to include or exclude individual clips concerning whether they will be / will not be transposed. because whenever i need to transpose a larger section of my project, i must resort to the pitch plugin. thi...

Re: Back to Arrangement

i remedied it - at least for my current project - by removing all program change commands in a channel which has a certain reaktor ensemble ("rubiter ate" synth) as its instrument. well, i thus had only the same preset playing on that channel for the full length of the project. it was no big deal as...

Re: MIDI: Playback in the middle of a note, and better step input

that capability is built into cubase 5 and reaper 4 - these two sequencers are my secondary daws which i know that they can do such a thing.
so it can be done- it is being done.
thus, live, unfortunately, is lagging behind these other two hosts in this particular point.

MIDI: Playback in the middle of a note, and better step input

i hope these haven't been mentioned yet: ableton live should definitely detect at the start of playback whether the play cursor is actually in the middle, somewhere between note-on and note-off, of a midi note. i am an ambient composer, often using very long notes/ chords. upon playback, live doesn'...

64bit Live more stable than 32bit (on PC Win7/64bit) ?

Hello, I am following with interest the advancing development of Live 8 as a 64 bit app. Two questions: Is 64bit Live 8 more stable than 32bit (on PC's with Win7/64bit at least) according to your experiences, fellow Abletonians ? Does the absence of MFL support in the 8.4beta logically mean that it ...

Re: Do you like Reaktor? Is it worth spending the time to learn?

Reaktor is THE AWESOME collection of modules and ready-to-use devices of all sorts. Have a listen here - the drums (sounds and patterns), bass and voicy pad are all from Reaktor 5: http://www.soundclick.com/player/single_player.cfm?songid=10982513&q=hi&newref=1 I love it to pieces. I am discovering ...

Re: Reaktor or ableton bug?

can't confirm the issue here.
win7 64, ableton 8.2.8b3, reaktor 5.6.2

but i haven't played a lot with live this year since i dislike its frequent crashes.

from the year 2006 through 2011 i did much more with live. then my reaktor and other ni plugins worked well.

hope you guys get it sorted.
