Re: Push developer kit: M4L devices for Push!

hi flocked - when using the push_grid device to grab the pads to generate midi notes when pressed, i seem to be getting a slight bit of latency that is not present when using push in native live mode to play the same instruments. is this just an inherent limitation to using M4L? or is there somethin...

Re: How to make custom categories in Browser's Drum Hits!!

tecxx -

i had the same idea and tried to do it using an alias link on mac, but it didn't seem to work. i would look further into it, but i agree with you that browsing from push is just not there yet. for now, i'm sticking with mouse to browse my drum samples. thanks for the detailed post!

Re: Master knob volume adjustment from Push

the manual sez Holding shift while turning the Volume with increase or decrease by .1 I'm not at my studio to confirm but I remember reading that. that's for tempo, not master volume. holding shift while turning tempo knob will change tempo by 0.1 for every "click" of the knob. holding shift and tu...

Re: How do you play all 64 notes chromatically?

if you don't want to switch the scales settings (i.e. just want to run over to a fully chromatic mode just to find the key of a song or something like that), you could pop over to user mode. the pads there output chromatically starting from C. i don't think there is a way to change which note it sta...

Re: Assigning footswitch ports?

when using my sustain pedal with live i can confirm: live mode: port 1: pedal outputs cc 64 (127 when pressed, 0 when not pressed), midi channel 1. the pedal acts as a sustain pedal when live is in note mode. port 2: pedal outputs cc 69 (127 when pressed, 0 when not pressed), midi channel 1. right o...

Re: What would you like to see in Push in the future?

+1 for adjusting knob sensitivity or holding down shift + using the knob for a control with higher resolution, akin to holding down ctrl or cmd when using the mouse to adjust a live parameter. i don't want to stir the maschine trolls, but one underrated feature of maschine for me is the controller e...

Re: Push's Live Port?

in your short example above, what do you have 'midi from' set to for the 2nd track? if set to 'all in' i would imagine it would take midi from push while in live mode, but you could try setting it to another input. this would only be useful if you never intend on playing the 2nd track with push and ...

Re: BRAINSTORM: Push vs Audio Tracks

i wonder if there is a way to set the sensitivity of the pads using the LOM...? if not in the LOM, it would be fairly trivial to set the sensitivity via M4L or even just a Velocity effect. They're just basic logarithmic mappings. sensitivity is different from velocity curve. as you suggest, the log...

Re: BRAINSTORM: Push vs Audio Tracks

an mlr style clip chopper for audio tracks would be amazing! something (kind of) related: when using the push development kit - push_grid object, the pads output velocity and position. this is great because I made a device which allows the top quarter of the push pads to output notes for a drumrack ...

Re: Push developer kit: M4L devices for Push!

awesome, thanks. i can successfully grab control of one selected pad. how would i grab more than one pad at once?

also, i'm a little bit confused as to how to use this with the push grid object. would the grab message go into the push grid object instead of using a 0/1 toggle or the other methods?

Re: Push developer kit: M4L devices for Push!

i agree, my solution is more of a workaround and isn't very elegant for the end user. please keep me posted if anything comes of your idea..

i would love to try out the 'get only some buttons' max device, but the link is giving me a 404 error... ?

thanks again so much for all your work.

Re: How to make custom categories in Browser's Drum Hits!!

is there anyway to do this without having the folder of sounds inside the user library? i have my maschine library not inside the user library and i would like to avoid copying it just to be able to browse like this. it also seems like it was already possible to do this before. when i hotswap for on...

Re: Push developer kit: M4L devices for Push!

aftertouch data isn't possible right now. It seems that the python scripts aren't sending any aftertouch values. We need to grab the midi values from the track, which also causes some other problems (are the midi value send from the push or another hardware controller?, etc.) you're right. oddly en...
