Re: Who's going to pay for the drive Ableton is setting on fire?

I think you're going to pay for it... or is it a trick question? Well, if you bought new tires for your car, then the tread fell off 2 weeks later, don't you think the tire company owes you more than just new tires (since you payed real money to solve a problem or improve performance, & all you got...

Re: Who's going to pay for the drive Ableton is setting on fire?

Might be getting a bit overly dramatic about it; seems many people are using it just fine. & major players have tested it out before (though perhaps not in an on-stage situation). Most of the people I know who use Live9 have no major issues so far. It is not like Ableton made SimCity 5 . Though I al...

Re: Native Instruments vs. Live 9 ?

NI Komplete has much much more "sounds" if you will, but you are paying more for it. Suite9 comes with Max4Live, so that opens more "patches" (mostly effects, glitch-synths, & MIDI stuff). I would say M4L is def worth the $100 they used to ask for it, so consider that as part of your equation. Perso...

Re: Who's going to pay for the drive Ableton is setting on fire?

Another frequent use case scenario; USB Flash Drives. Very very often used to transfer samples & songs. I hope Ableton does some hard-core testing on those also; I know when I save to my Flash Drive directly from my web browser, it will hang the browser for a few seconds.

Re: Who's going to pay for the drive Ableton is setting on fire?

Suggestions for fixing: Turn off automatic scanning, or at least filter out folders you don't want to be scanned (eg temp folders for sample packs you want to check out, CD-ROMs, etc). Add "Scan only when folder is opened" Scan folder by folder, put the index file for that folder inside that folder....

That is what I do as well.

This guy must be using Push 31; I guess buttons are too expensive to have too many of in the future:

Re: trackballs

Honestly, I'd stay away from Logitech trackballs; 3 broke on me in 2 years (LMB cheap switch). I wonder why one would pay $70 for a "trackpad" when they can use a cell phone: http://itap-mobile.com/android/touchpad/features http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1339723 I'm thinking about ...

Still helpful; cheers!

If you type in the French sub-captions (or maybe need to type them on the blog), then Google will automatically translate for you. The automatic sub-captions are not too bad.

Re: Normalize recorded audio

You might want to look into using a light-touch compressor/limiter; you'll still have a few stray peaks that will keep the rest of your session from being loud enough. Then that can be your "normalizer".

Re: Ableton Push: Questions & Answers

You can probably find a much better discount at a local store. They are giving a 50$ discount to people upgrading from live8 suite to l9suite+push, which would put it at 550$. Right now you can go pre-order on guitarcenter with a coupon for 510$, and presumably even lower whenever they put out a 20...

Re: I finally have some money!!!! NI Massive, worth it?

Massive Pros: Used alot in everything from pop to rap to underground dance. Tons of patches everywhere. Really fun to tweak. Massive Cons: Used everywhere. I would suggest lurking on KVRaudio for a bit, & checking out all the many other synths if you can only afford to buy 1. Or just grab all those ...

Re: lemur vs. push

i just tried lemur yesterday and now I know exactly what you mean about the "hardware feeling"...honestly lemur is cool. but not as main controller (in my opinion)...I need something real to touch :) & well as having velocity & aftertouch. However, I think Lemur is a great add-on to Push. Push has ...

Re: Suite 8 -> Live 9? Who is going down this route?

I went from Live7 to Suite9 (mostly for M4L, but having access to the .ALSes that use Operator etc is helpful also).
Too bad I could not vote ;)
