Re: OSCiLLOT

Interesting. Almost looks like it basically just makes Max for Live a lot more user friendly. I mean I know there is advanced stuff you can do in Max, but this seems to bridge the learning gap.

Re: Recording Drum Rack Pattern with QWERTY Keyboard Issue

Check the "MIDI From" in the mixer section. Should be set to All or Computer Keyboard. In fact it should be set to All by default, so not sure why it isn't working, but that's the only thing I can think of.

Re: Spam

What's that say about the user base? Probably says more about the lack of forum moderation. Makes me think Ableton should just move the "official" forum to KVR. That site has quite a few significant companies with their official forum there. They might even get more traffic over there. I mean, this...

Re: My apologies

Why are you letting this defeat you? There are some really great albums, classic albums, that are horribly produced. I honestly think that's part of their charm. Try this: limit yourself to just volume levels, don't even worry about fades or anything, and force that shit to work. If it sucks, give i...

Re: Session crossfade from one clip to another

I was thinking about how Session Crossfades might be set up, and yeah it does get kind of tricky, but it could be done. It would need: 1. The ability to link what clips you wanted to crossfade. 2. The ability to indicate a fade in or a fade out for the chosen clips. 3. The ability to set the durati...

All good! No negativity taken, because there really wasn't any there in the first place. :) I was thinking about how Session Crossfades might be set up, and yeah it does get kind of tricky, but it could be done. Had Alchemy on my radar, even though I did not anticipate getting it any time soon. Curious to see what becomes of it.

Re: Session crossfade from one clip to another

In order to cross-fade in the same way that Arrangement does would require Session to know what is about to happen . That's why it would have to be set up beforehand by the user. Maybe it could be an addition to the "Launch" section for clips, or whatever. The main thing is you already have great a...

Except that in arrangement, you can predict the changes.
Predict? Not sure what you mean.

Re: Session crossfade from one clip to another

i wouldn't be surprised that it's a structural limitation to live. Changing this 'little' thing could involve a massive amount of changes that we couldn't possibly imagine. Could also be that they haven't thought of it yet. If they can get crossfades to work in one channel in Arrangement Mode, no r...

Re: Session crossfade from one clip to another

I will admit it would be somewhat tricky to program, because of all the possible clip progressions, but it could be done.

It could be set up where you select/highlight two clips, Clip A and Clip B, tell Live to crossfade when Clip B plays after Clip A, then set up the parameters of that crossfade.

Re: Session crossfade from one clip to another

Understand, but you're asking for Live to change it's entire way of working.... Cheers D Not really. This would just give users another option in Session Mode. A person might say, you know, I'd really prefer this clip to crossfade into the other clip. Then they'd go ahead and set up crossfade for t...

Session crossfade from one clip to another

This would be cool to have, especially when working with audio instead of midi: the ability to crossfade in Session Mode from one clip to another, the same way you can crossfade in Arrangement Mode. And no, I don't mean those clip fades already available in Session Mode to remove clicks, I mean full...
