Re: Splitting midi signal

You can do LAN with something like rtpMIDI and crossover cable. Works great.

Re: Win7 or Win 8 next 5 years?

I far prefer 8.1 over 7. There are still a few nagging things in the interface (as there are with every OS), but it is solid and fast even on my 8 year old laptop (friggen firewire!).

Re: Does musical theory is needed in electronic music ?

One doesn't "need" music theory to do any kind of music, but it is a good tool to have in your tool box.

Re: Minimizing Track Editting Sound Quality Loss

Hey guys just looking over these comments i think you are touching on an issue iv been having when making edits/mash ups as well. I can never get my edit to sound as beefy as the original track. in fact the min i drop the mp3 into ableton you can hear the difference in quality. So, i always use the...

Re: Minimizing Track Editting Sound Quality Loss

If the original track was converted to MP3 the damage is already done and there is no undoing it. 32bit float isn't really a file format as such and is pretty much useless for a rendered piece of audio as it should have never been allowed to go over 0dbfs on export anyway. In the end, I suspect you ...

Big and noisy

I don't know if that is a genre, but it is what I do. Listen if you get a minute.

Re: New PC desktop buying advice request

Check out ebuyer.com Cheers Digital Junkie, ebuyer site seems to be down? Inta Audio set up (Pro Music PC V2) Cheers sawdust, Inta Audio have seem to have a good reputation. Good to hear that the customer service is good also. Getting a dedicated DAW would be the most straightforward option...might...

Re: Will Bitwig audio engine shit all over Abletons?

Was doing a little hunting for fanboism and noticed they got an award. While I've liked what they've done since X1 I can't help but think of them when I discovered them in the 90's and was so turned off by the interface that I never bothered with it. So I don't get what's up with the Cakewalk forum...

Re: Opening Set (recent or otherwise) from Push?

I would be fine with just selecting sets from the browser. Anything would be better than having to have my head stuck in a laptop screen. If there was an easy way to launch tracks in say, a playlist, that would be even better. Hell, one might actually be able to perform instead of running a computer...
