Not in the UK they don't! We say "tom-ah-toe" but we certainly don't say "cah-ble", and "gay" is "gay", not "geh".

My 2014 VW Golf got punched (and dented) by a hippy last night, so I spent the best part of the evening down the police station. I was surprised how sympathetic the cops were. Apparently they are "aware" of the hippy problem, but not allowed to do anything about it because "politics".
