Re: Keylab or Komplete Control mKeyboards

Arturia stuff maps to their own synths only and it can even change presets from the keylab. Curious about this... I'm looking at a Keylab myself. According to Arturia's website, the sliders, encoders, buttons, and transport controls are assignable to any DAW, and several of them are supposedly assi...

Re: Live 10 Standard...No Way!

First of all, being 64bit only it is not compatible with better half of my plugins while being nearly the same as Live9. What's the point? So i paid extra to say goodbye to Pro53 and Absynth4? Nice :( I feel your pain, as someone who is still on 32-bit as well, but the writing is on the wall... Wav...

Re: Portable, Road-Worthy Interface

Audient - they make a selection of high quality but cheap interfaces - apparently very good for the money if you are looking at budget. This is what I was looking for! Just checked out the Audient iD14 and it seems perfect for my needs. I've always heard great things about Audient's sound quality a...

Re: Portable, Road-Worthy Interface

Good point, @jlgrimes. Here's what I've figured out so far: Stuff I Have: Laptop: Dell XPC 15/Windows 10/64-bit (just purchased) Novation Circuit: Fun sequencer and access to two 6-voice synths. Not completely in love with the synth engines, but time away from the studio will push me to design my ow...

Re: Portable, Road-Worthy Interface

The smaller Focusrite Scarlett's might be a good route - they're a bargain, and pretty darn tough to boot. Yeah, I thought about that. I had a Scarlett 2i4 in the past, and actually have a Scarlett 18i6 stashed with some of my unused gear. I could just use that but figured there were some compact r...

Re: MIDI Problems with vintage hardware synth Yamaha TX81Z

You don't mention if you changed the Axiom's MIDI mode. Page 32 of the Axiom manual says that you have to turn the USB-MIDI-to-MIDI-out feature on, and that then disables any keyboard actions from using the MIDI out port. So you would consciously have to switch back and forth, depending on what you'...

Re: Portable, Road-Worthy Interface

An interesting mix of solutions, thanks guys! @Tarekith - that's a pretty slick little device, but yeah, I will want to record at least the Circuit (and if I don't have any self control, maybe my Xenophone too LOL). I don't need mic pres, but a pair of line inputs will be a necessity. @resident_m - ...

Portable, Road-Worthy Interface

Heading out on the road for the next 6 months, living in hotel rooms, so I'm considering what I want my traveling studio to look like. Right now, I'm down to a laptop, a MIDI keyboard, and maybe my Novation Circuit. Anyone have suggestions on a portable audio interface that would fit this setup? It ...

Moving to DC

Greetings all, Just accepted a new job today and will be spending most of the next six months in the Crystal City/Washington DC area. Any Ableton, electronic music, or Eurorack user groups up there? Any tips on the music scene or bits of local knowledge to share? I've been to DC a number of times on...

Re: Midi not launching at the correct time.

In Arrangement View there is. You can automate the tempo as a parameter of the Master track.

Re: Midi not launching at the correct time.

If I understand what you're doing there, the tempo is not set by the MIDI clips; it is set by the Scene. You can change the title of each scene to match the tempo you want by adding the tempo to the name of the scene. For more information, see page 110 of the Ableton Live manual.

Re: Multiple USB audio devices

From my experience on Windows, I don't think Live will not work with multiple devices unless all the sample rates match. Your issue might be that you can't bring every device to either 44.1k or 96k. Might be different on OSX. Someone else will have to chime in if this has been changed in Live 10--I ...

Re: Freezing VST INstruments without audio effects

Why not put the FX on a send/return track? Or if you want to duplicate the FX but they will have different settings for each track, put all the FX in a rack and save the rack in your browser? Then you could drag and drop it on other tracks as needed.

Re: Alternative folder locations

I'm not sure you can just move packs. You may need to reinstall them in the new folder location. As for the links in your earlier projects, I don't think you can fix thought without opening each one and restoring those links. I've found Live to be very picky about moving your source sound and clip f...

Re: Basslines: Different behavior on different notes? Help!

Are you using a sample or an instrument? I'm guessing this is a MIDI track with an instrument on it. If so, what instrument and how is it setup, especially the preset name if it has one.
