Re: Abelton Live 10 New User: adg files

I'm not a Push user, so I couldn't say with any authority, but I think what you're describing is typical of any MIDI controller, especially those with pads. The drum kit will assign the individual drum sounds to each pad on the controller and you can "drum" on them to create/record your beats. The s...

Re: Abelton Live 10 New User: adg files

Hey Max, Those files are drum kits, not loop samples. It won't copy to an audio track because it is an instrument and belongs on a MIDI track. The loop you're hearing is for previewing the drum kit so that you can decide if you want to use that kit to make your own beats. But yeah, some of those pre...

Re: ASIO4ALL driver issue? Help please!

I have a Scarlett 2i2 audio interface. Would that help? That will definitely help! Like Mark Williams said, make sure you have the correct Focusrite ASIO drivers for your 2i2, including the correct generation. I've owned a few Scarletts over the years and they are really solid interfaces. On those ...

Re: ASIO4ALL driver issue? Help please!

The sound card i'm using is a Realtek high def audio. But the sound crackling doesn't happen when I have headphones connected. Yeah, that's the issue. Like Tone Deft said, you're not going to get the best performance from that Realtek card. As you build up a track with soft synths and other vst's, ...

Something like a stand-alone vst host? What platform are you recording to?

Ok, I have a HP laptop but presumably the same could apply - I'll see what I find by way of drivers.
Yeah, sorry about that--I had Dell on the brain.

Re: EQ Eight's Frequencies Wrong??

In case anyone is interested. I guess MIDI labels middle C as C3. So if you're trying to match a melody line from a real piano, thinking you're playing say C4, E4, G4, (middle C on a piano) and expecting to get the same octave in MIDI, you'd have to make sure the notes on your MIDI keyboard are act...

Re: ASIO4ALL - no sound through speakers (headphones ok)

I think you have two different issues here. From my experience, several of the Dell laptop updates cause the interaction between the speakers and headphones to stop working, and I've had it happen repeatedly after Dell updates. To fix it, I had to reinstall the official Realtek drivers (not Dell) an...

Thank you for the reply. I have the latest update, though I can't find any information on how to reset it.. Not even in the instructions :/
I found the instructions on the bottom of page 117 of the Prophet X user guide (version 1.2), "Resetting the Global Parameters".

Re: HELP - MIDI & Audio problems with hardware synth

I had very similar problems with my Prophet-6 after I'd had it about a week. In my case, I reset it to the factory settings and the problem disappeared. I was worried it would erase my custom patches, but it didn't (thankfully). I haven't had another problem with it in almost 2 years. Check the firm...

Watching the Sky

Just posted four songs as an EP called "Watching the Sky". It's a collection of piano, Native American flute, and synthesized strings--soft, romantic, and peaceful.
