Re: putting an effect on part of a track
Or setup the effect as a send and automate the send levels. Either way, you'd have to automate it.

Re: Roland Juno/Jupiter-style arpeggiator??
Does anyone know of a VST arpeggiator that can do the smooth mountain-style motion when using several octaves (straight up & down)? Everything I've tried so far acts like Live's arpeggiator: each octave gets treated as an isolated segment so it ends up creating a stepped pattern. What I'm describin...

Re: Live saturator/overdrive/tube vs third party
I think i am getting both, Saturn is super dope and can do so much, but Satin sound so good for subtle stuff. By the way how do you use saturations effects normally: as sends, inserts on individuals channels or in group busses? You have a dry/wet knob on Saturn to apply just a little bit of it to m...

Re: Live saturator/overdrive/tube vs third party
Read good things about Kramer. I've just started using Amp as a send effect, a tip i picked up was to set it to clean and use it on drums and percussion to add clarity but also been trying the other models on kicks and bass, pretty tasty. I wasn't extremely impressed with Kramer Tape when I tried i...

Re: is it just me or i can't find a better piano then abletons
Are you looking for a piano VST that sounds like an actual piano or something that just sounds good to you? Should it sound good on its own such as in a classical composition, or in a mix where the "trueness" of the piano sound isn't as critical since it will be masked with other instruments and fre...

Re: Live saturator/overdrive/tube vs third party
Saturn is killer, and I mean absolutely killer. I haven't played with Satin, but have heard really good things about it. I think it's more of a tape emulation, whereas Saturn attempts to emulate tape, tubes, all kinds of things, and the multi-band thing is great as well. Another saturation option wo...

Re: Session or Arrangement
I think it's different for everyone, but I personally love the Session view and find it's what differentiates Live from other DAWs. I like to create a number of different clips per track, particularly for drums, then arrange into scenes that I know everything will work together, then use Push or jus...

Re: Question for Electric Guitarists
Hello Friend, A lot has changes since my first post as I splurged and treated myself to a gift yesterday I purchased a 2014 PRS custom 24 semi-hollow body guitar only because I got an unbelievable deal on Ebay. Check out my new girlfriend who looks like she is a sister. Still need to give her a nam...

The Autumn Aspen (Deep, Chill, Jazzy House)
My latest tunage, incorporates the Moog Sub37, Rhodes MK1 Stage and a bit of TR-8 for good measure among other things I happened upon.
Would love your feedback.

Re: TR 8 Frustration
How is everything setup first of all? Do you have TR-8 into computer via USB only or another way of connecting them? Do you have an external instrument on a MIDI track or using an audio track to send/receive the TR-8 audio? I'm not able to help you given the limited info so far, but rest assured, yo...

Re: Why does Ableton automatically scroll left in Session view?
I've had that happen to me on occasion.
Solution was to close Live and re-open. It's a bug somewhere in the code.

Re: Question for Electric Guitarists
I don't play guitar, but I have a Rhodes piano, which although is technically a piano, is very much like a guitar in that it has pickups for each note, needs an amp, is output at Hi-Z impedance, etc. I also have a small, 5w tube amp from Blackstar (HT-5R) which is perfect for my small place (and a g...

Playing my Rhodes. Always seem to come away from playing it - even if it's just practicing, with something.

Re: Need help with buying next piece of equipment!!
An S2 would get the job done. S4 would be better if you could get one, perhaps used as you can then control all 4 decks in Traktor. I've seen them going for between 250 and 400 USD here, locally. If you do wind up going used, make sure you arrange to also get the software as well. Otherwise, you'll ...
