Re: Scale / Song Key Conflict with Mixed in Key
B flat/A sharp - it's the same note, so it's not a big deal...until you get into sheet music, either writing it or reading it. If I looked at a piece of sheet music with only an A sharp, my immediate thought would be WTF key is this? Are you talking about an A# in the key signature? Yeah, that does...

Re: Scale / Song Key Conflict with Mixed in Key
G minor has b flat and e flat while d minor has only b flat. So the two key scales share 7 of the same notes with the only difference being e flat/natural. (assuming you're not using the harmonic minor scale, etc.) So, if there aren't a lot of e notes in your music, odds are a key detection software...

Re: Free NI delay! (not free anymore, is it still crashy? )
I stand corrected. Threw it on a Return track, modified some params, closed the VST and hung Live.

Re: Free NI delay! (really crashy)
Took a while for my Service Center to recognize I had the update, but went ahead and installed the update tonight. The prior version would load fine, I could muck with settings, then trying to close the VST crashed Live completely. This version hasn't done that so far, but I only gave it a quick spi...

Mixed In Key is another option. Pretty accurate too.

Re: Anyone have the Korg MS-20? show it some love
MS20 Mini is really nice. I like mine a lot. It's lacking a bit, but the filters, semi-modularity and modulation possibilities make it a great synth IMO. Check out Wave Alchemy's MS-20 Mini drum samples as well as tutorial on creating drum sounds with the Mini once you get one. And just for the reco...

Re: Bitwig Studio 1.2 'mind-blowing free update'
Last at time I checked a software company years behind on the total amount of features actually has to move faster, so new stuff in Live for the sake of being new isn't that interesting as long as Live remain a productive environment. Consolidation and stabilization is more attractive. I'd suggest ...

Re: Getting a good mix for Ableton
You can sidechain so your kick pokes through more, EQ cut items so your fundamental and secondary frequencies of the clap and kick poke through, compress the kick and clap so that it pokes through more and take the volume down of the non-kick/clap items.
And youtube search is your friend.

Filter's are a high pass and low pass filter.
If I were you, I'd consider selling the S8 and getting a Push. You can do most of what you can do w/ an S8 with a Push, especially when it comes to working with LIve as opposed to Traktor. IF you still want to use Traktor, perhaps an NI F1 and Push?

Re: Which piece of studio equipment gets on your nerves the most
My computer. First of all, it's fairly old at this point, but still runs great. The issue I'm having is the damn USB ports. If I move the computer sometimes, it glitches the USB port and whatever's plugged into it. And when Live has a good connection to an audio interface, then loses it, you have to...

Re: Two turntables for ableton - plugin for scratching
Hmmm...this is very interesting! Might have to give it a play.
I'm assuming it will work with Timecode from either Traktor or Serato? Is there a limitation on the timecode versions?

Re: newbie help with Elektron MD and ableton 9
Yes, you'll need an audio interface with the output(s) of the MD going into one or multiple of the ins of the interface, then setting up audio tracks in Live to listen on each of those input(s). (the number of outs from the MD to the ins of the interface depend on how many different sets of MD sound...

Re: The Live 9 Compressor - How is it?
So I'm still on 8 Suite and I'm skipping 9. I'm curious to know your thoughts on the Live 9 Compressor that they added (Glue, I think). Mostly because the U-he Presswerk plug in just came out and is discounted, and I'm considering it. Thanks The standard compressor isn't bad, but The Glue is a must...
