yea it's a cool controller, but the 'dynamic mapping' thing is pure hokum. doesnt work with anything except Sonar.

what the eff is 'deterred' ?

thing is, that way works fine for quite rigid timings, but for variable tempo audio it's not so great, so i think your tapping out markers idea is a pretty sweet one.

it does work, yea. just make sure you turn warp off so the loop plays as it should at its original tempo, THEN do tap tempo to match the global tempo to the loop. but no, it doesnt work for variable tempo loops, unless you can record the tapped tempo in the tempo automation? dont know, not tried tha...

can already be done with tap tempo button. drop in a clip, set the start position, turn off 'warp', hit play and start tapping out the timing of the playing clip. when you have the tempo you want, turn warp back on. all the markers will be pretty much spot on.

as for the 'deterred knobs', they havent deterred me from twisting them one bit.

i'm having the same problem here with my edirol pcr500. i can map any slider/dial on the edirol to ANY other parameter in Live EXCEPT the crossfader 8O
