Re: Right vs. Wright

Wright = one that constructs or repairs something Right = correct That is all. Different etymology altogether. "Wright" comes from an old English word that means worker. Sort of like the etymology of "Robot". Which makes it kinda cool of course, especially when sung through a vocoder. Am I wright o...

Logic vs Live

I've used several different sequencers and DAW's since I started out with Dr T's KCS on the Atari, slaved to a reel-to-reel. I've been using Live since v 4 though and it's been my only DAW since v 5. I love Live, but all the issues with L8 have made me have a serious look at alternatives, especially...

Re: Ableton Live 8.2

The plugin sticky is not 100% up to date in regards to the IK Multimedia problems (we'll update this asap). We have been able to find the actual cause of these random crashes and have been in contact with IK Multimedia about this. The last thing I've heard from them is that they have acknowledged t...

Re: Ableton Live 8.2

I recently reported a problem with Amplitube 3 crashing in arrange view & Ableton just emailed back with a link to the quote above about not being able to verify the problem. So it looks like the crashing problems with IK Multimedia plugins isn't on their to do list. ---snip--- Come on Ableton is t...

Re: "I love Ableton Live because it's so easy to..."

"I love Ableton Live because it's so easy to..." ...make it crash. :? No, but really, I'm having huge problems with it right now, worse than ever before. So lately, I've been thinking a lot about switching to another DAW. I switched to Live from Cubase SX 2 a few years ago and though Cubase have evo...

Re: How to make Ableton more stable!

I'm afraid the correct wording is more like "eliminate your plug-ins". I don't think I own a single third-party plug-in that hasn't crashed Live 8.xx, numerous times. (No cracks, no odd stuff.) I can only recall a single instance where Live 8.xx has crashed with a native Live device. But that doesn'...

Re: Simple synth with all parameters accessible via automation?

I have been using Poly 6 and Mono/Poly as my go to synths for the past few months now, and super easy to tweak. I have the original Legacy pack, so I have Wavestation instead of Mono/Poly. I used the real synths a lot back in the day and I think the softies do a fair job emulating them when it come...

Re: Simple synth with all parameters accessible via automation?

This happens to be one of my specialties! Since I'm a big fan of Novation automap, I like synths that expose every single parameter to the host for automation or host based mapping. And that's exactly why I ask! :) U-He Ace So you can automate the patch cables too, I didn't know that. Great! But I'...

Simple synth with all parameters accessible via automation?

Looking for a no-thrills subtractive synt plug with all sound parameters accessible via VST automation (not MIDI). Looking for something with: 2 - 3 VCO's with PWM and sync. 2 - 3 EG's 1 - 2 VCF's 2 - 3 LFO's Should be a good analogue emulation, but not necessarily mimicking any existing analogue sy...

Re: Which instrument do you like Programming/composing the most?

Ukulele. No, I'm serious. It's the best for songwriting! (not so hot for phat beatz) I've actually been thinking about forcing my sister to give me back my ukulele, for songwriting purposes. It seems I always write my best stuff with extremely limited gear. I used to have this little hand held cass...

Re: Mac just as good as any other PC when run windows 7 on it ?

don't believe it when you hear that macs are designed from the ground up with the operating system remember they have intel inside and the same people that make macbooks make PCs Well, not quite true. The components are more or less standard PC components. And I'm sure Macs are assembled in the sam...
