Re: ARG! My tracks sound so weak!?!??!

when is someone going to come up with a more "automatic" process for mastering? It's so subjective and yet it's really not...I guess it's hard to write a formula to predict what you want something to sound like. We are talking about the mixing here (or even only about the EQing of a single track). ...

Re: ARG! My tracks sound so weak!?!??!

maybe too many things go on at the same time? it is always tempting to add track after track, but often enough the result is less dramatic than what you could achieve with less tracks. If you bass sounds right to you when you listen to it solo, there is no reason to assume that something is wrong wi...

Re: Why do you need to choose a language to download live?

One reason: The japanese font / language file is quite big. If you choose any other language you'll not get that additional stuff. Reduces our traffic and your HD space consumption / download time.

Re: Jitter for audio stuff?

Jitter comes in handy if you start working with multidimensional matrices of data. In that respect it beats Max. Its mostly video processing, but since videos are just numbers too, you could do wacky stuff like using a Gaussian Blur effect to mute notes.. Now that thought has by brain working overt...

Re: Anyone using Live for experimental/non-rhythmic music?

Simpler / Sampler are great tools for creating texture loops that can be triggered in session view. Trick: use a clip containing "endless" notes. How to: note start before clip loop start, note end after clip loop end -> result: triggering that clip will create a note that is active as long as that ...

Re: Bit Depth in source material

This is correct. the files are converted to 32 bit floats in the player process, right before anything else happens to them.

Okay. i promise to put up a M4L version of it on my website, once M4L is out. There is no secret science involved at all.... 10 times more amount and/or lower frequency would be cool, and will be available in the M4L version. But this will introduce more latency... It is indeed a simple delay line, ...

one single grain frequency oscillator drives for grains: two overlapping ones per audio channel. left and right channel are 90 degrees out of phase. at the beginning of each grain, pitch, random pitch and spray (position) is applied. there is no parameter for grain density. there is no panning going...
