Agrrr. It was a stupid typo. I use Live 3. Live 4 is a great collection of parts which are re-assembled every day again and some day part A is under construction, some day part B and so on. No chance to "work" with it... as soon as it is in an acceptable state it will be out as beta. Regarding your ...

... but since we do our own MIDI FX there is a chance that some of your desires will be realised in later versions. A nice arpeggiator was allready planned but had to be delayed because we found it more essential to get our two samplers to run. So it will not be in Live 4. Well, hopefully later... f...

The loop thing is intentional. You could consolidate a whole song, a loop, or a smal sample out of it. Sometimes it may make sense to treat the result as a loop, sometimes it does not. Often it is not said that even if your import settings are "loop" you will also want a loop as a result of consolid...

Hi Guest, you are not cracy, you are discovering the unpleasant side of digital audio. A volume changes the volume of a parameter, just like turning the nob on the surface. In digital audio changing volume means multiplying a signal with a number, sample per sample. if you have a 44.1 k sample you d...

Hi new user, i am not sure how you define latency. The audio latency is the time an audio signal needs to travel from the input of your soundcard into the application or from the application back to your soundcard. This latency depends highly on the soundcard, on your system settings and on the soft...

Pricing

Twenty years ago you would have payed 10.000 $ US for a digital synthesizer with eight voices, 12 bit converters and a cryptic display. Midi timing was a nightmare and that thing was way to heavy to tranpsort to a gig without a big car. Ten years ago you still had to pay 4000 $ US for a floppy disk ...

Yes, possible since Live2: change the default settings in the prefs before dragging in new clips.
You have to throw away the old .asd files if you allready did drag these files in live while the default was set to trigger.

Okay, you want to drive that porsche. You want it WANT IT WANT IT , right ??? Well, you would ignore that the seats have the wrong color. You would accept that the windows do sometimes not close automatically. You could ignore that the navigation system displays Berlin in the center of the Antarctic...

Your Hardware is the limit. For MIDI Sequencing you can have as much Devices / MIDI Ports as you whish. robert what i'd like to know is, will i be allowed more than two midi devices? i use a cheap evolution midi keyboard, an akai mpd16, and an evolution x-session. i don't usually use them all in the...

Oh, well... when i typed Live 4 on my equipment list it was just a stupid typo. And then this big thread started and so i thought the best thing i could do is confuse you guys. Which was lots of fun: "Now it is Ableton Evil !?!!" From now on it will stay Live-dot. Period. Dot. .

Yes you can use your external synths.
MIDI timing and sync in general has been improved and should be fine now.
