Re: Condenser Mic Recommendations for Guitar / Voice

A couple of years ago I purchased a Rode NT1-A from Zzounds. Comes in at $230 but you can probably shop around for a better deal. I primarily perform guitar and voice and this has been a great microphone. To be fair: it is my first proper condenser mic, but I absolutely love it.

Re: The nine point two thread

I did a pub gig and two weddings this weekend using 9.2. I fired it up Thursday for a light test and had my 9.1 laptop handy just in case. Everything worked flawlessly between the APC40 MKII, the M4L template for DJing, and Live itself. So far so good after 10 or so hours performing.

In the mean time here are some cue points, too. It works as I intended it to and provides a framework for people to tweak and perform with.

Re: How fast does your Live sets load?

I bought my Thinkpad for $400 off of eBay. Running 32bit with a 7200rpm drive. Windows 7 and Live 9. Sucker is pretty snappy.

Cue Points in Ableton Live for DJing

Hi All, I use Ableton for recording, mostly, but have begun DJing with it in the past few years. I like using the APC40 MKII and believe I have a pretty good workflow/template out there for DJs. You can check that part of things out by clicking here . My buddies who use more traditional routes (Trak...

Re: How do u do your FX sends/template in Ableton?

I'm using less and less effects as I go forward. Here is a video to my template: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eizM4qWioBQ . Link to info/download is in the description. Built for open format DJing and managing the workflow to that end.

Re: 4Live.me REPEAT ME

I believe that the Repeat Me effect is just a beat repeat effect that has been racked. You shouldn't need M4L at all to use it natively in Live. I would dive into the rack and see where the breakdown is happening.

Never got into slicer effects, so probably not gonna roll that into it. Cue points are in the works but my work schedule is pretty insane right now. Still gigging hard with the template as is.

I have a template with native looping for free, but it also requires M4L. It can be downloaded from this page: http://drewreges.com/?page_id=12 .

Re: Akai Apc mkII - Custom Button Assign - No lights

Yeah...to get that level of performance I would resort to programming. I don't think that Live has anything native in that department. Here is a M4L patcher that controls the color of the one of the grid buttons. I use it for picking out the colors on my templates. Hit me up if you want any help in ...

Re: Best PC Laptop for Ableton Live 9

I have a Lenovo T530 and a T430 for backup. Brand new the T530 cost me $800 and the T430 I bought used off of eBay. The T430 actually has better system specs than the T530 and only cost me $400. I vote that route, but go for the T series. These are probably the last "pure" Thinkpads out there true t...
