Sorry, should have mentioned these results are on a Mac, running OSX 10.3.4.

Hey all... I was intending to go Logic Express, until I saw the Live 4 announcement, and everything changed, I bought Live 3.

So, now I'll be using:

Live 4
Reason
Tera
Tassman
Albino
Absynth
Vanguard
Cameleon 5000

I've been using Tracktion to run my VSTis, but I think Live 4 will change that!

I actually found Live 3 (demo) to be one of the "kinder" apps when it came to slaying my poor little G4 400's processor. If I can squeeze a little more out of Live 4... great! I know I can't hold out much longer tho, there's definitely a G5 on my horizon.

That did it for me! Well, that and numerous hours freaking out over the demo version. I just ordered Live.
