Re: How to do a reverse effect on an ableton instrument?

to do a reverse (tape start/stop) "Reverse: and "tape stop" are two very different effects. To reverse sound, simply reverse the sample. You may want to record some more sophisticated soudn to audio track and then reverse it as a whole. "Tape stop" is one of effects in Max 4 Live Essentials pack, p...

Re: Rendering project in 88200 makes one track mute randomly

I think I figured it out

Issues show up when 32-bit Live comes close to 3-GB limit of allocated memory. Some of the last tracks in the chain seem to be dropped. Also, it may crash due to excessive memory usage.

Rendering project in 88200 makes one track mute randomly

My set renders fine in 44100. However, when rendering in 88200, percussion return is muted. Later on it turns on, seemingly at random moment at every render attempt, from there it plays fine to the end of the track. I can't see how these could be related, but nonetheless there is an issue. Do you by...

Re: Attempt at progressive house

Great melody and flow. However, low end is completely lacking.

Also this thing needs a lot of limiting to reach proper levels of loudness, but I guess it's pre-master?

Re: Invest in Serum?

IMO Serum is the best synth on the market overall - got a number of awards and highlights. Certainly it will help you visualise sound deign and has broad possibilities to learn, will stay alive and keep you interested for years. The CPU, as far as I found out, comes from Warp functions used over mul...

Some of dependent internal racks may impose that limit.

Re: Smart plugin-crash-management and replacing old plugins

The real issue is when you use exotic plugin that crashes at set load or when it's deleted

Of course it would be great feature to have, but I can see it's difficult and may decrease performance.

Plus, now I'm set with a bunch of proven plugins and don't try random stuff for no reason.

Re: 9.2 Feels like a complete 9.. what would even be next?

9.2 Tuner is barely useful, gives no output at all for most of sounds.
When it comes to simple and clean sounds, I don't need automatic tuner anyway.

Still, working tuner would be great addition to this sample-focused DAW :P

Re: Avoid dissonance / analysis plugin to avoid dissonance

What are you up to? For samples, there's tuner in newest Live 9.2. For complex and evolving samples I actually use spectrum analyser for good results. If you think about DJing and mixing, try Pioneer Recordbox (free) for key analysis. Unfortunatelly, automatic tools are never perfect and can deceive...

[trance] Warmonger - Forever Underground

Track made for music contest, highlighted as finalist.

Soundcloud

The contest was about extensive use of given underground train samples, so it's not like usual club banger. Still, it's an interesting track if you look for something unusual and artistic.
