Re: Upgrade to Macbook pro 2015

If you are set on on switching to mac, I would suggest looking for a second hand macbook pro. This way you could probably afford to get a 15" with a quad core i7, 16 gigs of ram and at least a 256 ssd. FYI, the same family of processors is used in 15's since the late 2013 rMBP to the 2015 model (Has...

Re: PrEditor - Parameter Editor for Push 1 & 2 & Others...

Hi there, I still on the fence and I was wondering if VST mappings work when changing presets? For ex. If I have a vst that has only 100 parameters and I setup a mapping for the 'init' preset. Will the custom mapping work when I surf the presets? Or would I need to make a mapping for each individual...

Re: PrEditor - Parameter Editor for Push 1 & 2 & Others...

Hi Sigabort, I was just wondering if you could clarify if PrEditor can run on its own as a standalone (no need for Max or Max4Live) or if it needs Max or M4L to run? I ask because I see conflicting info. The first post of this thread says its standalone but in the help guide it says Max/M4L is neede...

Re: Bitwig 2 was just announced. What about Live 10?

NAMM starts today in California. Can / should we expect something from Ableton regarding Live? AFAIK they do not have a booth at the show Damn :( From what I remember, Ableton haven't been at NAMM for a number of years, so let's hope they do an announcement just after  On the Bitwig topic, I ...

Re: Ubermap for Push 2 (VST/AU parameter remapping)

I've put up a suggestion on centrecode for those of you on the beta forum. I've asked for them to provide auto instrument racking as that's the part that takes the time. If you're keen please upvote it so we get some traction. https://ableton.centercode.com/project/feedback/track/simplelist.html?ca...

Re: Programming Operator w/ Push 2

i program sounds in operator only from push 2. but tbh my patches are not super complex with modulation destinations and such. i have not had to go back to the mouse for any of my patches yet.

Re: Macbook Pro i7 2011 vs Macbook Pro i7 2015 - insight needed

Bit late to the party but I have read somewhere that the MBPr with only integrated graphics actually runs hotter and use more CPU resources than the same model with discrete graphics. I suspect you will have the same crackling issues if you use an external monitor with your current setup. So if its ...

Re: Ubermap for Push 2 (VST/AU parameter remapping)

Ah nice. So do you get the macro names in the blue hand mapping? TBH - I love Push for being able to browse native devices and the drum sequencer but I tend to use VST's and I find the pad sensitivity is horrible. I have been thinking about grabbing a Launchpad for finger drumming (doing the XpressP...

Re: Ubermap for Push 2 (VST/AU parameter remapping)

Holy crap 8O I just checked out some vids for Komplete Kontrol and it looks awesome. Custom VST mapping is killer on that. Sigh. I only wish Push could do that  Just out of curiosity, is it possible to map native Live devices in KK? I assume the VST's are scanned somehow by KK but not sure.

Re: Ubermap for Push 2 (VST/AU parameter remapping)

I think most people dont control 3rd party VST's with Push because its not that user friendly with the parameter mappings, limited to 128 parameters and not possible to browse presets without creating a whole pile of racks. So sadly it doesnt get much attention. I'm really hoping the tech was just m...

Re: New Macbook Pro

Yes but if you look at the user reviews on amazon it seems pretty bad. It also sticks out quite a bit. I would be worried about breaking it off during transport. Im sure better ones will come out in time. Since I think usbc will take a few years to be fully standard on all devices, so I weighed my o...

Re: New Macbook Pro

Thanks for the article. USBC will be great in a few years but this transition period will be annoying. I found this review that I thought was pretty balanced. http://www.technobuffalo.com/reviews/macbook-pro-touch-bar-review/ Personally, I decided to grab a spec'd out 2015 15" instead. Magsafe and l...
