i agree with Drush, the reason i own the computer that i own is because of Live. Live is my OS, Application, Hardware, and Software. everything i do musically anymore is centered around Live. I can understand your situation, and maybe if i was only using live then i'd consider a PC (though personal...

I think it will happen, there are already several distros of linux that are specifially designed for music and audio performance, and with tools like PD, jack, and supercollider all available on linux theres more reason then there ever was. I seem to recall reading that there is now a full DAW for l...

Then turn off your internet access and all the petty pc vs. mac squabbling and get busy making music. ;) Best thing I ever did on my iBook was remove the Airport card. It improved my productivity 1000%. Not because of CPU cycles or that kind of crap. It prevented me from "oh, I'll just check my ema...

yeah, check out any of his sets that you can get your hands on and you'll pretty quickly see that he's not using ableton to avoid the hardwork involved in his craft, he's using it to take DJing to another level and keep DJing interesting.

from my experience panther likes to have more actual ram then jaguar does, also many of panthers big performance improvements are graphics processor dependent. so if you have an older machine with a faster graphics card then you'll notice a speed boost on that machine. i've got a tibook 800mhz and i...

may be he s geting something back for promoting reason . Like a free copy? What could the Prop's possibly give Liam that he can't already get himself? To me, that just doesn't make sense. Liam sounds like the kind of guy that would tell someone he didn't like something if he didn't or did if ...

BTW I got to meet one of the heads of Ableton. He said sales of Live were split 50/50 between PC and mac. Maybe it's fun to bash platforms, but I don't offline, most of my friends use PC, and I never get into this sort of malarky with them about platform, we laugh and joke, and admit advantages and...

yeah, i certainly find the MPC1000 to be a very interesting creature, but i already own live4 and battery 2, so i really wonder if i'm gonna get any mileage out of an MPC aside from just using the pads. this note repeat function does sound interesting.

It is very easy to buy 3rd party parts for your mac same as a PC. have a look at the upgrades available through sonnet tech and many others. BTW, a...
