yeah, just on the odd chance that it matter, i'm gonna put my vote in here and say that dongles are a pain to work with. I already have to deal with an XS key, and having to carry around a USB hub jus tso i can have my dongles plugged in would be a serious pain. They might not be such a big deal if ...

Receive MIDI from a VST and AU

ok, not sure if this one effects anyone else, but with the new routing in ableton it would be great if the host could receive midi back from a plugin to route somewhere else. this would be really nice for those people who know how to write VST or use Max/MSP to be able to make midi plugins and effec...

Mmm, ok tried all this last night and still no joy. i has seen in the Microsound thread ways to trick ableton into looping shorter segments in the arrange window, but it would be really nice to be able to do this with the actual clip loop.

Any other ideas?

Posts about the board being OT are now seeming to be as common as OT threads. personally i'd rather seem ableton use ...

well lately i've been having more fun making rhythms by just dragging hits onto the arrange window then with using simpler.

i have tried turning the global quantize off, but no i haven't tried the clip quantize.

It's a shame i don't have ableton in front of me right now.

Is it possible to set really short loops?

Is it possible to set really short clip loop lengths? i can't seem to set a loop length shorter then 1 16th note. I'd like to be able to loop down to the point where the loop starts to pitch.

It will calm down. it probably never will totally go away, but as other have said, there is no point to splitting the forums up even further you just end up with forum sections no one ever visits and people keep posing in general because there is no one reading the little compartmentalized forums. I...

might be worth pointing out that this forum is not actually called "music" it is in fact called general. technically there is a "tips and tricks" forum for technique discussion, a "bugs and problems" section for technical discuss, and this forum IS that catch all forum that accomidates OT posts.
