Re: View Arrangement Time

Hey guys. How can I see the arrangement time in hours, minute & seconds in the arrangement view? At the moment I can only see bars & beats in the transport I'm not sure if you can get the transport to show it, but in arrangement view that info is actually displayed at the bottom of the actual arran...

Re: headphone recommendations?

Man, I think you're spoilt for choice - there are so many great headphones out there...what's important is you get used to them, learn them and work with them. :) I LOVE my Sennheiser HD650s. They sound great, and they're very comfortable so you can produce away for extended periods of time. However...

Ah - you are absolutely correct! In which case then, the original solution will work perfectly!

Carry on!

Re: Problem with audio exporting - Ableton Live! Intro 9

What settings are you using when you hit Export? Also, silly question, is your audio file quieter than then Ableton file? If so, turn up the volume when you listen to your audio file and turn down the volume when you listen to your Ableton file (so both are roughly the same volume) - still sound dif...

Re: Help with names & colors of clips/scenes when using Push

There's no right way of doing it, just be consistent. E.g. I use orange for all of my beats (kicks, snares, hats, etc), and then another shade of orange for my beat-related busses. Just think about all components of your track - bass, beats, FX, lead, percussion, etc, and then just stick to your col...

Re: record MIDI effects

Hmmmm, the above example will only capture midi data, right? It won't capture any effect information (which I think the OP is after). I think if you want to capture the effects too, you do exactly as above but instead of inserting a midi track, you insert and audio track . The track, and all the eff...

Re: Lazy snare layering

Hi all, very noob question here I want to find the simplest way to layer 2 or 3 sounds in the drum rack, preferably using just the one button, (say C1,). I have checked the manual and various tutorials so I assume this is not possible. When I try to drop one snare on top of anther it simply replace...

Re: Sample Library on external drive?

Thanks to this thread I moved all of my Kontakt library to my external drive freeing up about 120gb on my internal drive. It feels glorious! Took about 30 or 40 mins to copy across the library and then another 5 mins to tell Kontact where the new libraries were located. I'll test the rig for perform...

Re: drum rack sample on pad chromatically played

I think he means having each sample use only one slot, but able to play chromatically (including chords) by selecting it. That is how Maschine lets you do it. Oh, I see. My bad - not a Maschine user. I know you can layer samples on a single slot in Drum Rack, but I don't know much else that will he...

Re: Exporting Audio doesnt sound right

This is an older thread. But to be honest I have never noticed a problem with the exporting a mix. Maybe things have improved in 9 versus earlier versions. What I generally notice though, are volume differences. So, for instance, I render a track that I am used to listening to at a certain volume f...

Re: drum rack sample on pad chromatically played

Yes mate. You looking to play, say, 5 snares but each on a different pad and each one tuned or pitched differently? Drag your drum sounds to the pads you want to use in Drum Rack (probably dragging the same drum sound to each pad). Then you need to click on a pad - notice the sampler device that app...

Re: Advice to mastering with ableton

Man, that does sound way complicated! I guess it's whatever floats your boat and gets the mix to sound good! Exactly what Terekith said. 1. Mix the entire track: volumes, EQ (on each individual track or group), compressors - whatever you want. That's the focus. Make sure you've got some headroom lef...

Re: What is the most integrated keyboard into Ableton Live?

I've used several....but Push is essentially Live in hardware form. Not technically a keyboard...but it's similar.
