Re: Help with audio effect: Gate

I'm not sure if this is worth saying, so apologies if this is pretty dumb, but since you mentioned background noise... It doesn't matter about your interface, mic, plugins - if you got background noise then you got background noise! Half of the art is figuring out how to minimize that. Are you tryin...

Re: Symphony Series Cellos accent not exporting.

That's super-weird!

This isn't a fix - more of an experiment. What happens if you route your midi cello track to an audio track in Ableton? Does it still skip the accent?

Oh, in Ableton, make sure the track input is set to "in."

What VST? Any side-chaining? Any effects on any channels?

Re: Any tips for some GOOD studio headphones?

Oh, are we talking about production mixing, or DJ mixing? I don't do much DJ mixing, but I think the HD650s wouldn't be the best choice since they let in a lot of external sound. they would be a nightmare for dj mixing Absolutely. In my temp studio (i.e. a table in the middle of the house) I could ...

Re: Any tips for some GOOD studio headphones?

I got the Sennheiser HD650s and I absolutely love them. Do you use a headphone amplifier when using your Sennheisers to mix? Sorry, mate - only just saw this. No mate - I just have them hooked up to my 18i20 interface, that seems to power them sufficiently. No problems there! They work well with my...

Re: Any tips for some GOOD studio headphones?

I'm a big fan of the Sennheiser HD-650's as well. I've had mine for many years and they hold up very well. I use HD-25's when out performing but when I'm at home the HD-650's are what get used the majority of the time. I tried the DT-770's before I got the 650's and I found that they were too bass ...

Re: what Drumkit

The one thing that [kinda] bums me out about it, since it's 250 GB, it's bigger than the drive on my Macbook. I was hoping to install it on the laptop so i could make drums on the go then transfer to my iMac when i get home. It felt like it took days to install it. But, other than that... I'm diggi...

Re: what Drumkit

Yeah the kits are something else. Waiting for a sale on SD to update but I have been more than happy with EZD and the groove files help get you started or give you some ideas on fills etc, I just find they never fit anything i'm doing so will tend to program them myself. Some of the electronic kits...

Re: what Drumkit

Yeah, the internal sequencing is flipping nuts. Just doing the 230gb (!!!!) download right now.

I'm certainly going to have fun using it inside of Ableton 10. I love how you can export all of the MIDI from Drummer directly into Ableton.

I can't wait to take this for a blast this weekend.

Re: what Drumkit

Just to update the OP... I had a quick turn "rock" soundtrack project I had to put together for a client these last few days. I literally had 3 or 4 hours to put a track together. I downloaded a demo of EZ Drummer. OMG. It's absolutely nuts. Sounds gorgeous and natural. Because of the time-frame, I ...

Re: Aggregated device audio routing persistence failure ??

This is interesting. I'm having a somewhat similar problem on my Mac that only started happening in the last week. Boot live, load a set. Push 2 hangs on the start-up screen. I have to open Audio Midi Setup, navigate to MIDI devices and either set up a new profile and/or delete a profile. I have to ...

Re: Use of Keyboard MIDI Channels

So, quick related question.

Let's say I have a few controllers hooked up, but I always want controller 1 playing a drum rack on track 1. So, no matter what track my Push is playing, I want controller 1 to be locked to track 1...is this a midi channel thing?

Re: Noise in the master channel!

I think my mix bus is actually causing it and the Greg Wells MixCentric is the VST causing the problem. I can't take the MixCentric off as I based my whole mix around it and the highs would sound crap without it. A vocal bus is also causing the problem and it has a lot of analog processing (CLA-2As...

Re: Noise in the master channel!

If it's not your inputs, it could very well be an effect. You got any emulators of old analog gear? I've got half a dozen VSTs which will add white noise to the track. Some plugins add mains hum, etc, to the mix (you can usually turn this off through). Have you tried muting all tracks to see if the ...
