I've made rap tunes in Suite with 8 tracks and less than 8 scenes (shrug)

Re: Floppy ball kick sound?

What's your budget like? Rather than buying sample packs (which are usually between $30 and $70) you could just get Sonic Academy Kick 2 for $70 and synthesize whatever sound you want. It only took me about an hour of playing with it to really get the hang of it. However, you do need a little knowle...

Re: Push 2 - change scale when launching clips?

Bit more work, but you can make presets for the "Scale" midi device and hotswap them.

Re: push 2 double hits

This happens to me sometimes. You might be double tapping the pad without realizing it. If you leave your fingers kind of loose, you can tap the pad, then the hard rubber bounces your finger off just slightly and it lands back on the pad. See if it helps at all to be mindful of this and either delib...

Re: Does anyone use 128s with Push 2?

I still do. I mean... I'm confused as to what the drawback is. The give and take IMO has always been that they are slightly clumsier to work with, with or without Push 2, but make it much faster and easier to choose samples. I still use the browser when I'm looking for a specific sound. That way I d...

Re: Anyone else find the Push 2 unplayable?

it's the same reason why i am not overly excited about touch screen technology, it feels so flat and lifeless... Yeah I hate touch screens for like... most tasks. It's nice for just clicking or dragging something here and there, but anything that requires a little finesse, like typing, is nightmari...

Re: Anyone else find the Push 2 unplayable?

For those not having issues with pad dynamics or delay, it would be interesting to hear if the following behaviour brings it up. I'm detailing it very specifically even if it sounds a little weird here: - call up a sound that responds dramatically to velocity. It would also help if the sound also h...

Re: Anyone else find the Push 2 unplayable?

Yeah I've got the same problem with the touch strip as well. I'd be interested to know what OS everybody is on. I'm pretty sure the main problem right now is that Push 2 just isn't getting along with Windows very well, especially Windows 7. I've been in touch with support for a while now and they're...

Aftertouch interfering with input velocity

This is a little different from the reported problem of pressing down firmly (rather than striking a pad) causes a high velocity note. I'm seeing an issue where holding one note down firmly causes velocity spikes for the NEXT note pressed. I've sent a bug report to Ableton, but I'm curious to see if...

Re: Preview an audio effect before applying to track?

Lol no it can't do that yet. You can always load it up then select it and press browse of you want to keep hotswapping things until you find somethong you're happy with. Only time this doesn't work so well is with reverbs bc a lot of them are set up at 100% wet to be sends

Re: After 10 years : why is midi mapping in Live so archaic ?

Probably for the sake of ease of use. As someone who's used Live for a little over a year, when I saw your thread title I thought "what's wrong with it? It's so easy"

Then I read your post and realized there's a lot of things I've never even thought about.

Re: How to put the Simpler warp function automatically off?..

Two things I can think of: Open an empty simpler and make sure warp is off, then save as default. Go to the tab for warp, launch, whatever in preferences (on my phone right now, can't check the real name), and there should be an option for how to load different types of samples by default. One of th...

Re: Push 2 Display follow mouse's action ?

No, it doesn't follow the mouse's action but it does something that, in my opinion is better. Devices with lots of parameters now have named banks so, without actually checking at the moment, I assume Analog would have a bank for filters, oscillators, amp, etc.
