Re: How to switch between launch modes via drum rack?

You can MIDI map a note value to the Gate/Trigger button in the sampler and it will become a toggle. You'll have to map one note per sample.

You could also use an IAC driver to route it out of Ableton, back into ableton, and then you could put everything on a different channel...

Re: Delete unused audio files?

Hmmm...what if your set isn't part of a project...i.e. in the file name at the top it says "File Name [User Library]"

File -> Manage Project doesn't exist because it doesn't belong to a project.

Master Slave Multiple Computers?

Scenario: 3 Computers, all running Ableton Live. 1. Can one computer be a master to the 2nd, and the 2nd be a master to the 3rd such that the 1st and the 3rd are not connected to each other? Or is this a bad idea? 2. Should we connect the Master to both the 2nd and 3rd, and have them both follow alo...

MIDI Starts at C0. Why does Ableton start at C-2?

Until now, I haven't really considered this question, but here's why I have. OnSong on the iPad maps all MIDI values as they are supposed to be mapped. The lowest octave is 0, the highest is 10. C0 is the lowest possible note value. In Ableton Live, my key range goes from C -2 through G8. That means...

Re: Is it possible to automate parameters in clip view?

Yes, it is. Click a clip. At the bottom of the screen you should have clip, launch, notes and envelopes. If you don't see Launch, Notes, and Envelopes, turn them on under Clip. Enable the Envelope view by clicking the right arrow button in the title bar of Envelopes. You should have a drop-down to s...

Re: Cannot save project to network drive

Have you tinkered with permissions on the shared folders?

What about consolidating the project before you save it?

Re: How to set default state of an effect to *off*?

Add it to the track, turn it off, save it as a pre-set, drag it from the presets.

Strange. What's the big picture? Not sure why you would want to do that?

Send MIDI from the device on a different channel and tune into that channel with the MIDI In setting in the track.

Re: Program changes within a song

Yes. You can: a) use arrangement view and drop another clip in the timeline. b) split your song into sections (stacked scenes) and use either follow commands to trigger the clips in the scene below the subsequent scene, or use Isotonik Follow Scene with Max4Live to automatically trigger the next sce...

Re: Automation Track.

Bluetooth = unreliable. What you're trying to accomplish seems over complicated. To trigger a song, you map a controller to a scene (session) or a locator (arrangement.) Automation is drawn into envelopes in clips in any track or mapped to midi notes in clips in that track and they're triggered when...

Why couldn't you send the main mix to 1 side of the headphone jack and the monitor to the the other?

Arrangement View Locators - Can They Be Saved?

When laying out a song in Arrangement View, after adding locators, we typically select all measures between locators and consolidate to scene, then use Session view with Isotonik Follow Scene to perform the songs with the ability to cue a specific section or repeat a section. The same could be done ...
