Re: Changing VST instruments seamlessly during a live set

I have trouble with VST's loaded into VIP crackling if they're heavy, like rich piano patches.

Re: Newbie i need some help with ableton live 9 & push 2

Arrangement view is where I begin when I'm writing something or transcribing something. I use Session view as a library of songs and many of them are split up into their respective sections with multiple scenes per song so we can fire them off at will.

Re: Newbie i need some help with ableton live 9 & push 2

Oy...you have a lot of research to do. There are so many workflows available, but primarily, you'll either operate in Session view whereby a single scene is the entire song, or the song is divided up into scenes for every section of the song, or you'll work in Arrangement view, which is a linear tim...

Re: .alc clip preview doesn't playback the automation

It's probably a thing because the preview is simply a tiny little wav player and not a clip player, and the automation that you have set probably requires that all of the devices that are automated be accessible in the currently loaded set. What if you were to record the audio output of the clip to ...

Songs in Session View and Rehearsing Sections of Songs

Setup: Songs are in Session View with each section of the song being a different scene (Intro / Verse 1 / Verse 2 / Chorus, etc.) One track has dummy clips for Isotonik Follow SCENE so we can avoid follow actions on each clip in each track. One track has audio band cues (Verse, Chorus, etc.) that fi...

Re: Assigning button to multiple track changes

There are so many different ways to handle this situation, but one thing needs to be known first. Are you using Session View or Arrangement View to layout your peformances? Either works, but I find that Session View works better for our setup because on occasion we repeat sections of songs (which ca...

Re: Warp Off but Tap Tempo still screws up Audio File playback

If you want to tap out the tempo of an audio file just to find the tempo so you can set it in the project, drop the audio wav into a scene in Session view and turn off Warping. Fire the clip, tap the tempo.

I just did it without it affecting the playback. Is this what you're having trouble with?

Re: External Instrument ARM behaviour

So you have a single MIDI track with an External Instrument pointing to the Minotaur. The MIDI input on that track is coming from the Microkorg and is routed back to the Minotaur. The track monitoring, when set to "IN" will monitor all inbound signals regardless of the state of the arm button. When ...

Re: muting effects on master in Live when changing scene

Make it easier on yourself. Put that audio effect in a return track. Then, automate the Mixer|Return Envelope in the track that you want to kill the effects on. If you have multiple tracks that are affected by the effects, you'll need to either a) duplicate the automation in each track or b) use the...

Re: Can't get the simplest done: loop to drumrack

Let's say you have a full measure of a recorded drum beat in a wav or aif format. Create a drum rack. Drop the sample on one of the drum rack buttons. Drop the sample on another one of the drum rack buttons. Now, change the sample start and end points on each button's sampler. Create a midi clip in ...
