Re: Max & Push coders: PLEASE HELP ME I AM PULLING MY HAIR OUT

- Make 4 (audio or MIDI) racks. (Each device is a bank of 8 ) - Use Live's MIDI Learn to assign the CC's to unmapped Macro's. - Make sure Remote Out is activated in the MIDI preferences Now you can control those Racks from Push, while the mapped CC's are being sent out to the remote output you selec...

Re: Display stuff on Push Screen

I am wondering how much you can customize Push's screen with M4L. In fact I appear to don't like the Push workflow at all but I am quite attracted to it's ability to display informations and graphs. So I could consider it (back) just for creating my own live performance controller/display. How is t...

Re: Am I correct in thinking Info-text is not reachable via API?

You'd still need to mouse over the preset though.
How about a live.menu hooked up to a [coll @embed 1]?
The live.menu can hold the titles/cue-names and the coll can print the info into the max window or wherever. You can automate the live.menu to show what you need when you need it.

Re: Am I correct in thinking Info-text is not reachable via API?

Um, i think the title covers it ... but ... Am I correct in thinking the Info-text is not reachable via API? I cant see it in the LOM and haven't found it in a web search https://i.imgur.com/uahuhzo.jpg Not from the API that I know, but you can access it from Live's DB file. Haven't tried writing i...

Re: issues with ableton live 8 max 5 and maxforlive

You're using the latest OSX with software that existed about a decade earlier. Neither Live 8 nor Max 5 will ever be optimised to run on High Sierra. The biggest reason being that both applications moved away from 32-bit. A lot of the externals you have in Max 5 will likely be 32-bit. Running 32-bit...

Re: Get last modified parameter

[live.path live_set view selected_parameter] will show the last selected parameter and only if it has been selected in the Live GUI. You'd need to monitor all parameters on all devices to know if a parameter was adjusted from its own GUI. But that'll only work for the exposed parameters which are l...

Re: [Live 10] Any Freeze Ups / Crashes on MacOS?

Is web MIDI turned on in Chrome? It may be conflicting with the MIDI support in Python scripts.
Its been known to hijack MIDI Controllers and possible internal streams.

Re: Problems mapping Push 2 to M4L device

Push has touch encoders that send a note on message when touched and note off when released.
You need to twist a knob in MIDI Learn and turn MIDI Learn off before you release the knob.
The MIDI Mode must be Relative, not Absolute.

Re: Problem with Relative CC and MIDI track Input

I suppose using an integer might work if large enough. A dial with a range of 16384 for example. Though its weird you only get 1/333th division. When working with relative encoders, I usually work with inc & dec objects and use the offset from 0 or 127 to calculate the steps to move. Plenty of ways ...

Re: Problem with Relative CC and MIDI track Input

Any reason why you can't use MIDI Learn for that parameter?
Give a dial a float value so you have more than 128 options. Then all you have to do is scale the menu length to a 0.-1. range.
There are nastier workarounds than this, but that'd involve using plain Max or some other remapper.

Re: sysex Launchpad and the quest for love

You can send and receive Sysex as of Live 10. You can't do both on a single track/device without a workaround though.
The feature is known to be partially broken and hasn't been touched since it was introduced.

Re: any way of testing serial object is outputting anything?

Yeah, help may be found in the most obscure places. Good luck on your quest.
Everything that works in Max should technically work inside MFL. Aside from MIDI
If all else fails, iPad plus Lemur would save some time if the AMX screens don't offer something more.

Re: any way of testing serial object is outputting anything?

Unfortunately I can't help you here. No experience with serial data between applications. I suggest you try on the C74 forums, those guys are off a different caliber when it comes to these sort of things. Alternatively, maybe some netlinx users tried hooking up to Max. Finding users with that experi...
