Re: Drum Rack: Pre/Post fader sends

Thank you very much for the explanation. I gave it a quick try and understand it now. This is really a nice feature to extract drum pads to new single tracks. It's a new drumrack with one pad which keeps the same MIDI note as before. You mentioned a lot of advantages of this approach. But I would li...

Re: Sustain pedal kills CPU, really

Thank you. But why does piano keep sounding endlessly when Ped depressed? That is not well designed. Any solution for that problem? "That is not well designed" No one designed that. You've got a problem in your setup. Is the polarity switch on your pedal backwards? Midi feedback loop? Please read t...

CPU load of m4l mapping devices

What is the reason of the cpu load in the m4l mapping devices (when nothing is changed)? Is there a way to reduce it? Is there a way to reduce the cpu load completeley for the case the devices are disabled? There is still a certain cpu load if the devices are disabled. For the native instrument rack...

Re: Drum Rack: Pre/Post fader sends

There already exist sends in the drum rack. The output of the returns is limited to rack output and the main sends. And it is missing to use them as pre sends and not only as post sends. Which is why I extract them to their own tracks. I see no value whatsoever of keeping everything in one track. I...

Re: Sustain pedal kills CPU, really

i wonder why turning retrigger on makes no difference to my CPU load with the Abe's grand piano then? Here, it makes only a difference when I play the same note (or notes) several times. Please, can you both open and run the file I provided above? Around bar 7, my cpu load (Ableton display) goes ov...

Re: Sustain pedal kills CPU, really

i don't think the retrigger mode in Sampler will cut a note off if it is being sustained... Yes it does, I've just tried it. And I would have expected it because one (or the main?) reason for this switch is to reduce cpu load. And yes, it would be thinkable to distinguish between long release times...

I took the the time to read your long post, but I still don't understand your objective in detail, sorry.

Re: Sustain pedal kills CPU, really

Retrigger is disabled which means if you play one single note again while sustaining, another voice is used and cpu goes up. This doesn't make any sense for a realistic piano. It's remarkable that playing back piano samples needs such high cpu power. My Yamaha P-80 is from 1999. It still has a great...

Re: Sustain pedal kills CPU, really

Just tried the "Grand Piano" from the core library. It looks indeed extremeley inefficient implemented cpu-wise. Holding the sustain pedal and repeating only one note increases the cpu load in a way which doesn't make any sense. When playing "normal piano" style the cpu load is quite high for a sing...

I am not sure if I understand you first wish here. Why is not sufficient to use an additional track in the live instance your are working in?

Hmm, why not simply taking the keyboard of your choice (and size) and putting a Push/Launchpad/Launchcontrol whatever you want beside/in top of it?

Re: Multiple interface suppport with internal sample rate conv

Use ONE reliable ASIO driver. ASIO4all is just a (great and helpful, of course) workaround and not for professional/serious live audio production. Software wise it is only possible to use one ASIO driver at the same time and this makes sense. Real synchronizing wouldn't be possible technically. We c...

Yes, would love that, too. Instruments, presets, audio effects, whatever. One additional category where the last 20 or so items are stored which I took from the browser into the set.

Re: Vocals

@Padawan, check out Splice sounds, you can browse and search for samples but it's a monthly sub. Has 1000s of spoken word samples, samples from old movies etc. https://splice.com/sounds?q=spoken%20word Where do I find the samples from movies? I couldn't find them. Or do I have to sign up to have ac...
