Re: Chord rack/device/effect advice

Not entirely clear I understand your requirement, but I use the Chord Explorer from J74 Progressive for something along those lines:

Re: Label wants me to pay for mastering, etc.

At the end of the day, the amount of money that ends up in your pocket is a direct function of actual sales of your track. For the label to have already made you an offer means they have projected those sales and concluded that it will at least be profitable for them. Ask to see those projections. I...

I have a similar setup and it works fine. IIRC, I had to download a Behringer USB audio driver from the Behringer site.

Re: External battery / power bank for push 2

I've run my Push 2 for about 6 hours on this: https://amazon.com/gp/product/B005NGLTZQ Use it for all kinds of things in the field - recharging iPad/iPhone, powering still and video cameras, driving motion control slider, etc. It is really banged up but is still ticking. Unfortunately it is no longe...

Re: Am I locking myself into Push?

Other controllers such as the Linnstrument also default to a chromatic 4ths setup (as far as I know) and to my mind it's going to be a very very popular layout for at least the next 500 years. Possibly longer. Thanks, Angstrom. Wow, I had no idea something like the Linnstrument existed. Gave me a s...

Am I locking myself into Push?

I am exclusively using the 4ths/Chromatic/Vertical scale layout in Push 2. As I get better at creating chord progressions across different keys, I am concerned I may be painting myself into a corner. Is the muscle memory I am developing applicable to other controllers? As much as I really love my Pu...

Re: Yeco Touch Screen Controller

My first reaction was "why doesn't Ableton enable touch controls throughout the Live UI"? Then I saw the all the neat touch features of Yeco - looks slick. I've been circling around the Surface Pro for a while for use in the field - maybe holding out for the next gen (Surface Pro 5?) since I use som...

Re: HARMONY IMPROVISATOR by Synleor -

Looks like it is a 32-bit VST and you are running 64-bit Live. I just downloaded the demo version to my Windows system. Used JBridger; Live loads it fine. No idea if you can do the same on your Mac. Looks like an amusing tool, but US$120????

Re: video vst

Claudio,

What is there about the built-in Video Window in Live that you can't use? What exactly are you trying do with video within Live? Maybe you are having a codec issue.

Re: Mixing Sound for Video

I use Premiere Pro and Live together for every documentary video project, but only for creating the score. All other audio tasks take place in Premiere Pro or Audition. There is a pretty clean workflow for going back and forth between Live and Premiere to fine tune both the video and score for maxim...

Free online class in progress from Berklee College of Music. Very basic on the topic of scales, keys, chords, and harmony. Russell is an excellent teacher.
