i used to love using dual monitors. anybody know why live doesn't support it? is there a reason why they haven't implemented it? i mean as easy as it is to hit tab and jump from session to arrangement i can't think of why it would be a problem. :? During the Live 4/Live 5 era this question was aske...

I had difficulty importing certain EXS24 libraries. For example, importing Logic's Xtreme Analog or Xtreme Digital libraries doesn't work well. The frequency is closed by default and Sampler won't map it to your MOD wheel automatically. You would have to load each patch, assign frquency to the mod w...

The Sweetwater web site says December 9th and the Zzounds web site says January 10th. Both sites list it for $349. Historically M-Audio makes good Windows drivers. I'd also recommend the EMU 1616M which is very high quality!

In regards to the original question, FM8 is awesome! I think FM8 and Massive are two of the best virtual instruments out there, and Battery and Kontakt are two of the best sample-based virtual instruments! The morphing feature and built in effects in FM8 is cool. There is one downfall for me. While ...

I haven't tried the beta of Live 7. Analog has tabs? The screenshot on the Ableton site doesn't show this.

Is there an updated screenshot someone can post? Thanks.

I don't agree. If you're mixing, tweaking, cutting, whatever, then fist pumping augments your performance.

I agree that fist pumping by itself is a cheap way to get a crowd going. I think a lot of DJ's do this and don't deserve the crowd's cheer.

Re: Best MIDI controller for DJing

For a good DJ controller I like the Kenton Killamix Mini. It's a small footprint yet professional and is very flexible. I'm not into triggering with pads for DJ sets. My Killamix and Eyris give me everything I need. Once in a while I'll also use an O2.

The "dongle" should be something like a $49 add-on that existing Pro Tools users can buy to mix on the go. The assumption is that anyone who would buy this is already an HD or LE owner, so why not just sell it for less than $50? As more and more studios get less and less business because m...

Re: Which Mic Question

Neumann TLM103. $999 and sounds just as good as it's big brothers. The only difference is it doesn't have a pad switch on it. If you want to stay under $500 then definitely go with the Studio Project T3.

All versions of the virus TI have the same hardware. The model type should therefore not effect latency. There used to an issue with Live when using the TI 61 or Polar as your midi controller. The delay compensation in Live would cause really bad delay for midi recording from the TI keys if Virus C...

Sampler - Drag'n Drop WAV file across keys

Maybe I missed the memo..is there an easy way to take a series of different WAV files (drum samples) and "drag'n drop" them on Sampler and have them map correctly? Or do I need to drag'n drop them and set each root note one by one? I have a bunch of one-shots I want to map acros the keys, ...

Sampler - Mod Wheel/Filter Freq

I've been waiting a few days to hear back from the support guys on this, but thought I'd throw it out there to see if anyone can assist. It's driving me nuts! In Sampler on the Filter/Global tab I've got "Filter" enabled. On the Midi tab next to Mod Wheel I've got Filter Freq selected. Whe...

Are you using the TI 61 or Polar as your midi controller when recording midi sequences? I have the TI desktop and use an Axiom 61 with no problems.
