you can try to get an used RME multiface and then plug it via the cardbus and you should have a rock solid system ..
by the way I just bought the cardbus, will have to look at the latency I have now ... (just quickly checked that is was working)

+1 for the number of clips displayed (for me width is ok but height is too small, specially when you do gigs)

to be honest I just sync my DSI Evolver with Live and I re-tested yesterday it still works ... BUT I have to set the sync master to be my audio card (ESI Quatafire), if I choose the mac to be the master, the sync goes glitchy as hell
