Re: patchers within patchers, question about instances/reference

You should use abstractions - means, save those patchers as files and load them (if you save them within the search path of Max you just have to enter the name under which you saved them). I am not sure if it updates automatically. before Max 5 that was no problem, in early versions of Max5 it was ...

patchers within patchers, question about instances/reference

Hi there, i am having a simple problem that an experienced max user will probably laugh at i have a patcher i have made, [p doMidiProcessing] inside that patcher are more patchers [p doMidiProcessing] [p doVelocity] [p doPitch] [p doLength] [p doLatency] now i made lots of copies of [p doMidiProcess...

Re: Menus and how to save their state

im trying to do the same thing as ledids i think, menu is generated from content of the liveset (it's a list of track names), i would like some way of live recalling what state the menu was in (including the current selection) at the time of save/close. I can think of a few potential ways but was w...

Re: Menus and how to save their state

Please check the "p parameter" subpatch in the pattr help patch. Be sure to set your parameter type appropriately. Also, the idea of dynamically loading menus seems to run counter with the idea of saving presets, no? Agreed, and this is actually related to another thread I posted on here http://for...

Re: Elegant way to select a device or parameter to affect

you can really easily send midi around using send and receive objects, the only downside (its not a major downside) is that you need to write another little patch with a receive object in it to pick up the notes. downside to this approach: you need a patch on the sending track and patches on the rec...

Re: Menus and how to save their state

Nope... just tried and this doesn't seem to work. The pattr object always reloads with a 0 value stored in it. Anyone successful at saving off values/states in live sets for objects other than live objects? no but i would like to know too :) I just made a post about this and then found this one via...

saving the state umenu items

How would i go about saving the state/contents of umenu items? they dont get saved with live :( (im talking about in a finished patch) alternatively, is there any way to add your own entries to the live.menu device, seems you can only select from menu items you hard code yourself, is this right? tha...

it's hidden away in the help page for pipe

[p DelayAnythingWithAnyLength]

works beautifully on packed midi notes.

Re: Note delay that doesn't lose length value?

thanks for the reply!!!, and double thanks for the patch :) i am trying to do this but it's not working: pitch vel \ / pack | ( delay ) pipe/ | unpack / \ flush | | noteout If i send the pitch and vel straight to the flush it works (produces midi out) but it doesn't seem to like being packed/piped/u...

Re: Note delay that doesn't lose length value?

is there a good place to go to ask (or search for already discussed) max things such as this. Im sure it's all been done before but maybe the max beta forum on here isn't the best place to be asking general max questions.?

Note delay that doesn't lose length value?

Does anyone have any ideas on how i might go about modifying the M4L.md.07.DelayNotes.adv (Midi Delay Notes) tutorial so as to preserve the note duration and not having to resort to setting a note length. the comment in the tutorial before it indicates it may be possible, but difficult "We're going ...
