Re: Polyphonic Aftertouch in Live 10: The Thread

I'm seeing some Channel Pressure in Live, saved as a clip envelope, recorded and played back. When did they add this functionality? I thought Ableton discarded this information in all situations, as mentioned above and in numerous other places. I can't seem to get it from the USB out of my Linnstru...

Re: MPE support.

it's MIDI implementation has always been extremely limited, no NRPN Good news on that front. Check the notes for some of the latest beta's. https://www.ableton.com/en/release-notes/live-10-beta/ Long story short: CC Duplicates are not ignored anymore, there was a bug with crossbleeding of CC's and ...

Re: MPE support.

People inside Ableton have been pretty upfront that implementing MPE means a complete rewrite of the MIDI and MIDI clip components of Live, which is some of the oldest code in the codebase. It is a VERY expensive feature for them to implement because of this and is the kind of thing that could trig...

Re: Added support for Akai MPC's?

Force has Sets that can be converted to Live Sets as Clips etc. Same with MPC Live and X, the MPC2 software has Clips as a choice of track type and a Clip launching section. Force takes this further basically being a hardware version of Live, including being able to switch between controlling Live a...

Re: Ableton Master, Digital Performer Slave

Has there been an update since this? I would like to use Ableton for all of my midi & VST's/Midi and Digital Performer for my audio. Is this possible? Rewire is allowing Ablton's built in synths and audio but takes away the VST's I want to use in Ableton. No, DP does not work as a rewire slave at a...

Re: MPE support.

currently I'm using Moog Animoog on the iPad with my Linnstrument, but I'm eagerly awaiting any sign from Ableton about MPE being on the horizon...don't want to switch to another DAW, but the wait has been long already... Come on Ableton, you can do it ;) reverb.com mistakenly had a page posted wit...

Re: MPE support.

another update and another month without any news even just a sign that they are working on it would take away some of my frustration, and maybe even save them a couple of customers! Seems like everyone has already switched or is switching to logic or bitwig Yeah, it's a PITA, I love Live, but I do...

I am totally using this! :x

Catalina would be a hack on my Mac Pro, so I'm holding off until the x86 community figures it out.
It's a move in the right direction though, iPads at secondary touch screen displays with apps that can run on both platforms etc.

Re: MPE support.

It seems more likely that MPE is going to look like a group Track or Rack instead of how it looks in bitwig. And if that is the case, we're almost there. I hope not, what a mess.. Color me unimpressed if that's how they implement it. Reaper, Logic, Bitwig style with one MIDI track that accepts chan...

Re: Akai Force user thinking about buying a Push 2

It's now collecting dust since it doesn't do what Akai promised including no arrangement mode, no Ableton Live integration, and the sampling is not as easy as it is on MPC X/Live. I don't know about the sampling, but the Force is going to get an arrangement mode before the end of the year, and they...

So, does Push still only quantize the whole clip, and not the selected notes??

Serious WTF? here. Decided to go with a drum rack and immediately run into Push quantizing my 8t high hat line... fun.

Re: Bitwig UI makes Live look old-fashioned

I feel that Live is a strong app still, but so many areas seem to have suffered from a lack of that last 10% of attention. And yes, I know the last 10% takes 90% of the time. Perhaps that's the issue. Nail on the head. At this point there are 4 DAWs on my main computer. Not one of them is 100% in a...

Re: A Live set that functions as a CPU/system benchmark test?

I guess really there would be 2 tests: CPU usage during live performance, and export/freeze render time. CPU usage is straightforward to set up. Render time is very likely dependent on a single core performance, but it really should always be X2 faster than real time. Here's the issue with CPU test...
