Re: Vst 3 support in Live. When?

Yeah I own a Maschine Studio which I only use for development reasons, I have never used it for anything more than keeping dust of that area of my desk. Push + Live are fine for my needs. Maschine is well designed but not the kind of workflow I like and more of a noodling thing I guess, but I just ...

Re: Vst 3 support in Live. When?

I would imagine that VST3 is the reason that Massive X is delayed. I would imagine it is delayed because it's being developed by NI and isn't sounds.com related. You must own Maschine.  :x Last hardware purchase I ever make from NI. In general I'm weening myself off of them, too many br...

Re: Live 10.1

Hey Machinesworking, Yeah, it might sound like I'm exaggerating, I reckon. Still, personally, I can't stand the complexity of selectable tools in other DAWs and I think Live's really ahead in terms of the simplicity/efficiency ratio. One single pointer with context dependant tools, period. I love t...

Re: VST 2 coming to an end. - Steinberg

That doesn't mean VST2 will suddenly stop working or developers will stop making them, or DAW's supporting them. I am going to bet the adoption of VST3 will remain as slow as it has been until today unless DAWs drop VST2 support. Guess you lost that bet. http://66.media.tumblr.com/725e16b97e5bc2235...

Re: Vst 3 support in Live. When?

VST3 is the least adopted update to a standard I can think of. There are a few good reasons for it, but it came out 8 years ago, and it's still not widely adopted , I wouldn't count on Ableton supporting it anytime before 2020, or 2030 for that matter. Wrong. So almost two years ago I was a year of...

Re: Live 10.1

I'm going to pitch in against the scissor tool. Logic with its multiple pointless toolbars does my head in. cmd+E or swipe drag does everything you need. Here swipe drag does weird things. That was the point to me. I couldn't care whether the curser turns to a little scissor or not, but it would be...

Re: ARA 2 support

The one area of Live that's IMO sub par is pitch. Picked up Melodyne a while ago, I don't think I would work in any other DAW for pitch and time if Live got ARA support! 8)

Re: Live 10.1

This is a great update, happy to see it. AKAI with MPC2 is killing it update wise and I was starting to think that Ableton were resting on their laurels! :) finally vst 3 support .. can we have a scissor tool next please A scissor tool ??? I never understood the point of it and why every DAWs are st...

Re: VST3 Support!

The beta adds a lot of cool stuff, downloading!
I'm curious, about VST3 and it's supposed ability to relinquish CPU back to the host when not being used.
If that works as advertised it's a great things for DAWs like Live, Bitwig and MPC2 which all use a lot of CPU.

Re: Akai force.....Ableton push....3??

I really wish vendors would wait until all the promised features are in the OS before shipping. Just ask Elektron users who are still waiting for Overbridge. Until the full Live integration is ready, I'd wait. I agree, though I think AKAI to their credit have enough of a stand alone product here to...

Re: Akai force.....Ableton push....3??

Akai Force is standalone but not very portable: - 19.9” x 16.7” x 3.4” / 50.5 x 42.4 x 8.7 cm (display flat) - 19.9” x 15.3” x 8.4” / 50.5 x 38.8 x 21.4 cm (display upright) - 12.57 lbs / 5.66 kg Thing is there's a guy who made an outstanding Reaper template, more like a full scripted application f...

Re: Akai force.....Ableton push....3??

Interesting thoughts there.......I love the push 2, but travel a lot and was hoping to be able to just take a single piece of equipment to whack ideas down as I travel but want to stay tied live......hence my interest in the force and why I’ve posted here for the first time (not that that should ma...
