Re: guitar based minimal with funk

Yaaaaïï!!! Thank you guys for checking ! :D Very happy ! Those three comments make my day, i mean my week, i mean my month, for sure. Forgot to say all was made within Live, of course. Roland, thanks for the "hardtest", and very glad it sounds ok, didn't think of doing this myself. Btw, this ep is f...

Re: Ableton DAW MIDI foot controllers

FCB with the UNO firmware can do more than most stuff three times it's price. +1 Here's mine : Cut and almost completely emptied FCB (lightweight) with an a-pac($43.00) inside. Makes it a usb joystick, recognized by Plogue Bidule (75$), or other midi capable software. If you have an old controller ...

Re: New encym:trk

As always, very inspiring and cinematic ^ ^ The flow is very good : groove itself and the whole track's development. Doesn't sound like a jam at all. I love especially : the background and liquid sounds, in particular around 3"33, nice polytonality, and this old telephone sounding like sound, very m...

DL/ Install Live without content ?

I haven't downloaded 8.1.3 yet, but i wish this time that there would be an option to download / install Live without any content. I never used the provided waveforms and samples, rarely used any preset, and would really appreciate a possibility for a custom install. Bare bone... Would it be easy to...

Re: Live half-working features

Groove is great at the moment, in what way does it not work? Well, one very frustrating thing with Groove in case of midi clips is that it only affects notes and not automation related to notes. Which means for example that if i've set a controller for a few notes to have a longer attack and releas...

Re: Anyone using an ADK laptop?

In search of some info on getting a new lappy, i got to know adk through the music computer section of Gearslutz's forum, and this guy's (Scott, the owner) posts really convinced me of his integrity, competence, and non-pushyness. Of course, if you don't live in the US it's a bit more complicated (a...

Re: So, who's using a solid-state drive ?

Yep, still pretty expensive : the intel drive i'm talking about seems like around 400 bucks. My luck is that i have to get a new lappy and if you customize a pre-configured ADK one, there is the option for getting this drive for 150 bucks. Unbelievable, kind of ... Otherwise, if my Toshiba hadn't di...

Re: So, who's using a solid-state drive ?

Thanks for the insight. Though it's still perfectible, i think i'm going to go with a sdd because it fits nomadism and laptops : changing places a lot, playing in places with very different environments (heat, humidity, vibrations). It seems like a good way to avoid bad surprises when playing live. ...

So, who's using a solid-state drive ?

I have to get a new laptop and i will very likely get one from ADK and there is the option to have a ssd internal drive (intel 80G). After reading about the advantages and disadvantages of ssd, i wonder now how it works for you guys. Is the asymmetric read vs. write performance a problem with your s...
