Re: Yamaha Montage (or really any MIDI Keyboard) with Ableton 10
Montage has a 32 channel (16 stereo outs) USB audio interface built in. You can route any of the 16 parts or the stereo A/D input to these outs. They are restricted to 44.1K/24 bit though. The A/D accepts line or mic levels and can be run as stereo or dual mono, but uses 1/4" jacks with no pha...

Re: Yamaha Montage (or really any MIDI Keyboard) with Ableton 10
I've been thinking about getting a montage, I had a motif 6 a long time ago so doghouse, it's fairly easy setting up the midi and audio tracks and also being able to drop let's say Reaktor or Omnisphere on a separate midi track and control that also without too much hassle? I seen a video where some...

Re: should you do your own mixing and mastering?
This idea that Spotify or streaming platforms are gonna dictate how loud I make my tracks is sickening, you can turn the normalize compressor off and listen accordingly which a lot of people do, producers especially, and the songs if mixed right do not seem to be effected when streaming with normal...

Re: should you do your own mixing and mastering?
I agree 100 percent fish, that video looks interesting will watch it when I get home But basically the point I’m trying to get at is a traditional mix or mastering engineer would most likely advise against getting such levels, even sitting in the mix with you, especially if your paying him he’s relu...

Re: should you do your own mixing and mastering?
something a traditional or typical mastering engineer would run from, because sounding clean at those levels seems to be not possible in a mathematical world you are getting a bit carried away there i think. you are right though that a loud master starts with a loud mix, or a mix that has the possi...

Re: Productivity Monster Audio Workstation Build
Keep in mind that results seem to vary with Ableton and other daw’s all the time, I keep almost everything on a external ssd and have recently enabled audio units and use those mostly now but also vst’s here and there. The iMac pro is a little pricey so if I was you I’d be prepared to return it if i...

Re: should you do your own mixing and mastering?
Some good ideas there, but I strongly disagree with "It goes against all mixing or mastering engineers reason and schooling to have something hit so hard clear full and loud..." We most definitely have that sort of thing in mind if that's what the track requires. :) I feel ya that’s funny...

Re: Productivity Monster Audio Workstation Build
they might move your thread to the lounge so if you don't see it it's prob there I bought the iMac pro 8-Core 64gb of ram and 1TB ssd and that thing doesn't break a sweat, multiple instances of heavy cpu plugs on multiple tracks and I think I'm topping out at 30 or 40 percent with more than I could ...

Re: should you do your own mixing and mastering?
Both, if your just going to be guessing half the time might give it to somebody and see what they can do with it, but also, work on it yourself too, with enough want and desire you’ll be able to get amazing just as good as any major label sound yourself, all that you need a second set of ears to be ...

Re: Macbook Pro i9
I’m not sure hairy hero, but I know the i9 really likes to heat up every high-power laptop on the market will have fan noise if you push it. Makes sense, but with 32gb of ram and 6-cores I really thought it would have held up better, and I’ve heard from a lot of people that the i9 does heat up more ...

Re: Macbook Pro i9
I bought the 2018 32gb i9 and opened up a maxed out midi arrangement, fan came on almost right away, so I returned it and bought an iMac pro 8 core 64gb ram and that thing runs anything I throw at it smoothly

Re: How can I use HALion 6 with Ableton?
It seems that after doing do diligence on the compatability and purchasing HALion 6 I cant use it with Ableton, really disappointed, it fires right up in stand alone, but it seems the Mac version only supports vst 3, does anyone know a workaround? Use the AU version maybe? even bigger wow! so I can...
