you now can choose an audio clip, set warp markers in it and define this clip as master. it will play completely unalterd but the song tempo will follow to match the warp markers can any alpha testers out there shed some more light on how this 'inadvertent' mapping works? will we have to embed audi...

And the development of the video feature had a great side effect: you now can choose an audio clip, set warp markers in it and define this clip as master. it will play completely unalterd but the song tempo will follow to match the warp markers. Add a MIDI or audio track to a free jazz performance....

Re: Warp track and generate tempo map

I'm sure this one has already been asked for, but it can't be that difficult, Abes! I want to warp a track, but play it back unwarped, i.e. Live generates an automated tempo map that makes the original track play back exactly as the original. That way, any accompanying audio or MIDI follows the tem...

article: breakthrough technique for sound analysis

"In a recent issue of the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, Marcelo Magnasco, professor and head of the Mathematical Physics Laboratory at Rockefeller University, has published a paper that may prove to be a sound-analysis breakthrough, featuring a mathematical method or “algorithm” ...

frozen tracks with multiple tempos - strange results

hi, my apologies if the answer to this problem is transparent or has been answered before.. i'm afraid i'm short on time, and can't troubleshoot at the moment. i have a set with both audio and midi tracks, and i've frozen all of them. the set contains a wide range of tempos, which are triggered by t...

Daft Punk style sampling makes me cry, becuase the majority of Discovery is other people work. just wanted to clear this up: Discovery includes only four outside samples — not much for a contemporary dance record. “Around this, we play all the instruments, which are mainly vintage keyboards and gui...

tapping generated some pretty erratic results. i agree with you that leaving the warp on will provide the most reasonable results.. even though i've 'softened' the transitions between tempos, I can't get it to sound good. i've been getting the best results with this acoustic guitar part so far using...

thanks for the reply longjohns. the results were surprisingly horrible with the warping left on. there were quite noticable granular artifacts, even across minor clock changes and in spite of which warping method was employed. I wonder if anything could be done about that. as for the sudden jumps in...

Please help! I can't make an accurate tempo map!

i'm trying to make a tempo map from a guitar part that speeds up gradually over about 30 seconds (this is intentional). could you kindly review my workflow, because i thought this approach would work.. but it hasn't :( 1. I warp the guitar part with the metronome as a guide, varying the amount i war...
