i would strongly suggest spending more time with live. to me, live facilitates a more organinc atmosphere for developing new musical ideas, ones that would otherwise go undeveloped (i.e. in digital performer). dp doesn't do everything live does (not by a long shot), and vice versa. if you're coming ...

not for the sake of trying to ruin a sale here, but i'd be remiss if i didn't chime in and say that keyboard blows.

no sticking keys per say, but pretty much worthless as far as playability goes.. it's like trying to ride a bike made out of cardboard.

for what it's worth, the trackball i'm using now is vastly superior to any other pointer device i've used. not just in terms of speed and accuracy, but from an ergonomic standpoint also.. a pretty bitchin design.
