Re: New to Ableton and have a few questions regarding equipment

As far as all the things youll need for sound, youre looking at needing an Audio interface (to connect your mixer to the pc), a 4 channel mixer at minimum (it really depends on what youre all playing, most likely you'll need an 8 channel mixer), to connect a bunch of headphones youre looking for hea...

Re: Voice for hire – any tips?

Yeah just use a freelance website, there are a bunch out there. People per hour, upwork, Twine etc. Post what you are looking for, how much you are willing to pay and what sort of standard should be required. Some websites will offer the freelancers rather then you look for them, but both work fine....

Re: Starting in music production

Personally, I wouldn't invest in Suite and would just go with the standard version. Then once you have learnt the basics of Ableton buy the Komplete 11 bundle from native instruments (the regular one or ultimate, its your money). The first party plugins Ableton uses are very restrictive in what you ...

Re: Best VST's for Urban EDM: Grime, Dubstep and Drum & Bass?

Nothing beasts stacking FM8 with izotopes trash2 if youre interested in making any kind of neurofunk dnb. Not sure what to say about grime music, you can easily get away without using any vsts for that sort of stuff, just look around for free sample packs for anything you need. As far as dubstep aga...

Re: When to add (white) noise to a synth?

I don't think there's a strict rule on if and when to add noise to any sound - it's a matter of preference, of finding what your sound and tune needs. From my experience, adding noise results in more warm, fuzzy sound which can be associated with 'analog' sound. It works very nice on pads, but also...

When to add (white) noise to a synth?

Hey guys, I've watched many videos on people designing synths and I was wondering when and why is it appropriate to add (white/bright) noise to a synth, I see a lot of people adding noise to saws especially and I was wondering why they add it, is it simply to thicken the sound? I'm personally prefer...

Re: 64-bit or 32-bit - which Ableton do I have installed?

A simpler way to check is when you open up Ableton, look at the bottom of the title screen that shows up while Ableton is loading up. it will say ''Ableton Live *whatever version you are running* (64/32 bit)''

Re: Would You Hesitate to Buy Push 2 Now?

Not sure how wise it would be to assume that a push 3 will be released anytime soon. Its not worth waiting for something that might not be coming anytime soon or at all. Thank about it, you wait for the push 3, a year, 2 years pass and it never comes out, think about how much time you have wasted. B...

Can someone explain frequency modulation?

Hey guys, could anyone explain exactly what is going on when you use frequency modulation? I use it in Serum but its more of a trial and error process to see what sounds good. If anyone could explain what exactly the frequency modulator is doing that would be great. When I fm from another oscillator...

How to recreate this sound?

Hey guys, I'm trying to recreate the vocal sounds in this track: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=51__z6cMWrE I'm talking about the vocals that play as the piano plays, not the long held vocal pad sounding ones. Obviously you need to add a load of reverb, but I'm really struggling to get anything clo...
