Re: Best way to "zoom in" loop?
Having searched a lot on information about zooming and looping, I have found that I can do this: When I am looping the whole clip, and want to zoom in on a part of it: * Select the part I want to edit. * Double-click in the beat-time ruler to zoom to the current selection. * If I also want to loop ...

To select a clip with the keyboard & other MAC shrtcts
Hey dudes, So if you're in arrangement view, and you want to select the clip that the timeline insertion is sitting on some part of, as though you clicked it, but don't wanna reach for that nasty old mouse - alt+left > alt+shift+right OR alt+right > alt+shift+left... Another thing as a guy coming fr...

Pro Tools Pencil Tool - triangle, squyare, and random
hey there, anyone know if ableton has any equivalent of pro tools super awesome pencil tool shapes? Basically, the way it works is that you select the shape, ie. triangle, square, and random, and a grid value, and then you draw in the automation based on the shape, and grid values... It's really sup...

Re: Lessons learned from researching Audio Interfaces
Hi mates, I picked up a babyface pro yesterday at the local boxing day sales. So far so good, and really interestingly, it has a SLIGHTLY lower latency than the UCX!!! At least on my system. So that is a great outcome, as I was worried about extra milliseconds. So my latency is much higher than the ...

Re: Lessons learned from researching Audio Interfaces
...you do know that the buffer compensation setting is only relevant when you listen directly through your interface and not the software? this is because when you listen to the "dry" signal you play your instrument "dry", whereas when you listen through the daw your ears and your brain automatical...

Re: Lessons learned from researching Audio Interfaces
PS. When you say you don't trust those numbers, do you think they are over or under the true amount? Also, how do you check? I've done the built-in lesson on setting the buffer compensation setting thing nudet the latency info in preferences, where you bounce from one track to another, but it came b...

Re: Lessons learned from researching Audio Interfaces
...tbh i don't trust these numbers...i have a late 2016 macbook pro and with my rme multiface 1 (more than 10 years old) i am able to achieve a roundtrip latency of around 8.x ms at 128 samples buffer...since i change instrument presets during live performance (which can lead to cpu/ram buffer spik...

Re: Lessons learned from researching Audio Interfaces
...without having read all of your comments: why do you think 3.65 ms is a "high" latency?... regarding rme totalmix: this could give you the option to have a "zero latency" setup...by listening through totalmix (and not the daw) you'll get the most minimal technical possible latency...but beware o...

Re: Lessons learned from researching Audio Interfaces
Hi guys, thankyou for all your input on this. It's helped me get closer to buying an interface. Apologies that I haven't been on here for a bit, my family has been going through some dramas, but back in the saddle now! I managed to get to my local rme reseller, who are really helpful w/ some of the ...

Re: Is there a way to nudge audio/midi clips by the millisecond
It does in Live 10. Oh baby! I'm embarrassingly excited for this. Also, if Ableton are implementing all these workflow improvements, it suggests that they're listening to the (I would imagine) many many peeps who are asking for epicly helpful (but seemingly relatively easy to implement) workflow tw...
