Re: Latency issues in 8.2.1

Hey thanks for the response mayabong The monitoring has to be set to "off" for the offset to work. I think the driver error compensation still works with the in/auto/off setting set to "off" - It's the buffer result I'm interested in. Does the recording position change when you adjust the recording ...

Latency issues in 8.2.1

In Live 8.2.1, when I use the driver error compensation set to observe the delay I find that adjusting the Buffer Size changes the positioning of recorded audio. It never used to work like this. I tried using the driver error compensation set in 8.2 and adjusting the Buffer Size does not change the ...

Re: Control selected track \w keyboard shortcuts

Hi Richard i hope that keeping up with the OSs isn't too problematic.. On the clip volume thing: When you activate midi mapping, the volume is highlighted in the clip view along with all the other parameters all over live. If it works like the loop toggler for clips (which is accessible via a normal...

Re: Control selected track \w keyboard shortcuts

Thanks for update Richard!! I have another suggestion: Would there be a way of automatically suppressing the shortcuts if Ableton is not the topped program? If for some reason I switch to Logic, the STC shortcuts prevent Logic's from working. Selected clip control would be good too as soon as you ge...

Re: Control selected track \w keyboard shortcuts

Hi wiffbi Thanks for your software. I'm using it all the time and have sent you a small donation. Cheers! I have a function suggestion: A "clear solo" function so that one keystroke could make all solos turn off no matter which track is selected. Would that be possible to program? I think there is a...

Re: Any tips or tricks on adding "bite" to synth lines?

Try routing it out of Ableton to a real guitar amplifier or PA. Then re-record it with a microphone at various distances from the speaker!

Re: What are the best headphones for mixing?

I use headphones to listen to rehearsal material because it makes me feel like I'm there in the room and don't feel drawn to process the sound at all. Using monitors really quietly is a better way of mixing than using headphones because there's a narrower listening window. So many things sound great...

Activate/Deactivate Clips or Notes via shortcut

After finding it impossible to make a key command for this because the menu item changes depending on the clip status I found this software that makes it possible really easily. https://www.unsanity.com/haxies/menumaster. It's only $12 Apple-M is now de-activating and activating clips for me. Also w...

Markers - with text or no text shortcuts

If you assign a keystroke to the set marker area on the arrange page within live it drops a marker without giving you a text box. If you assign a shortcut to "Add Locator" via the OS keyboard system preferences you get a text box immediately after the marker is dropped. Having both options is handy....

Dropping into arrangement instantly with option-spacebar

When you make a selection in the arrangement and press alt-spacebar ableton plays the selection only and then stops - but if you press the left arrow after making the selection the curser goes to the left point of where the selection was and plays on continuously with alt-spacebar. Nice for jumping ...

Hide scenes

I'd like to be able to hide scenes so that while working on a project it's possible to de-clutter the session view and show scenes relevant to my workflow whilst not completely ditching old material.

Virtual clip consolidation

An alternative to consolidate so that clips can be glued together virtually rather than by making a new file and then triggered as a new clip while in play mode. This would be quicker and allow fine editing later if necessary.

Quickly deleting recorded audio

What's the quickest way to delete some recorded audio from the arrange screen AND the hard disk?

In logic and pro tools you can delete audio from the arrange and the hard disk in one action. Is there a similar workflow in Ableton that doesn't involve a visit to the browser?

Many thanks

Quickly getting to the arrangement end while zoomed in

There's no keystroke for this per se but I just realized you can do it by doing "select all" in arrange view and then pressing the right arrow.
