Ive increased the master utility +9.44db about 20 seconds ago, exporting now, ill let ya know what i get out of it. Im also exporting it in Mono for comparison. Trying this for the first time to see how they sound side by side.

Re: Rendered Volume LOW

So, is there any way you can upload a screenshot of your track so we can see how your faders are set? It sounds like all of your tracks are too quiet - which is weird. If you set your master to 0, at what volume is it peaking, mate? The master is set at zero. The rest are set between -14 to -8. Dur...

Rendered Volume LOW

The rookie is back.. Last time here I had the issue of too much gain/volume. Now its opposite. Ive youtubed this problem to death and followed many instructions. Ive set VU meters from -10 up to 0, increased utility gains, increased track gains during mixing, and all its doing is changing my sounds ...

Re: Why do my exported recordings sound like burning garbage?

UPDATE: First run at rendering since updating my Intro to Standard. Sounds perfect in both MP3 and WAV formats. Now, being I bought the Standard license off ebay for a killer deal, after the install, Intro was still on my computer. So I opened up Intro and the render, sample, bit rate, buffer, etc. ...

Re: Why do my exported recordings sound like burning garbage?

I wonder if the fact Im not using an audio interface (other than the laptops internal soundcard) has anything to do with these issues. When checking out the signatures of fellow members, almost everybody is running an external AI of some sort. Anybody have any kind of opinions on that? Only external...

Re: Why do my exported recordings sound like burning garbage?

Normalize has always been set to off. My understanding from the get go was that it makes everything louder. My latest concern is that I cannot render to mp3 to save space. When that render option is turned on, both the wav and mp3 sound horrible. When turned off, the rendered wav sounds flawless. I ...

Re: Why do my exported recordings sound like burning garbage?

OK, so peep this.. I rendered for the first time without including the encode for mp3 option and the wav it produced sounded beautiful and as advertised. Just like within Live itself. Im 100% stoked right now about it. Now, of course I gotta question why the rendered mp3 still sounds like an abortio...

Re: Why do my exported recordings sound like burning garbage?

I'm not sure that gain staging is the issue here as he's hearing the project play back OK, the render should sound exactly the same as the playback. gain staging issues would be equally evident on playback, and in both cases Live is very lenient. I was thinking this earlier, and it's good to hear s...

Re: Why do my exported recordings sound like burning garbage?

Wow.. Thank you all for your replies. I'ma be honest and say I only understand some of the advice so far (hence my rookie status), but I'm looking into and trying to learn all the terminology you all are throwing at me. My project is simple. Guitar played through Line 6 POD Farm 2 plugin (used for 3...

Re: Why do my exported recordings sound like burning garbage?

OK, so heres what I got now. Much less distortion (lowered the Master mix level). Better than before, HOWEVER, now the volume tends to randomly fade up and down in both mp3 and wav rendered projects. This is really frustrating. Why the hell cant it just render how it sounds in the program? Literally...

Re: Why do my exported recordings sound like burning garbage?

Thanks man. Much appreciated. The mix volumes were the first suspect while shooting the issue, so I cut all mix volumes directly in half from their current positions, and tried to re-render it all, but it was the same result. Sounded smooth as silk in Live, sounded like death metals death metal when...

Why do my exported recordings sound like burning garbage?

Projects within Live sound great during playback, but as soon as the project is exported, the wav and mp3 files sound like the gain was turned up to max all across the board. Everything sounds distorted and hollow. I/O sample rate is at 48000, bit depth of 16. Again, sounds great during regular play...

Recording A New Clip

For whatever reason, Live is not allowing me to record a new clip into scene 2 in session view. I Have Intro 10, and have no issue at all recording 16 tracks (both audio and MIDI) across the board, but when it comes time to start recording a new clip into the next scene, absolutely nothing happens e...

Re: Live 10 Audio crackles

Installing ASIO4ALL V2 and setting it as my audio device took every bit of crackling out and cut abletons cpu meter down by almost half. Good enough for me until ableton fixes this issue thats killing a lot of us. Never had this or a cpu issue with 9.

Re: CPU usage in Live 10

I been having same issues. Lots of crackling and high cpu load no matter the buffer setting. Ran everything through ASIO4ALL V2 and all crackling from current and previous projects disappeared, and my cpu load went from 60's back down to high 20s to low 30s tops. Although i think it should still be ...
