Key command to maximize/toggle for editors

On many occasions I would like to edit and audio file or MIDI clip full screen. As far as I know, you can only maximize the editors or return them to a smaller condition with the mouse. Is there a key command I'm missing? If not, Is it possible to program this in M4L? I know there are a couple of pl...

Re: See Pianoroll and Arrangement

Drag it down from the top so that it isn't full screen. Once you've opened it by double-clicking on the clip that is.

Re: Your favorite zoom in/zoom out workflow

I mix the keystrokes and the drag-on-the-ruler.

Re: Live 10-plugins keep disappearing

Check that you haven't typed anything in the search field.
Check the plugin paths in the preference dialog. Try adding the correct path as custom.
Check the library paths if anything other than plugins are missing

Slot Machine Comping: Opinions please

It occurred to me that the addition of take lanes may be the sticky wicket for Ableton when it comes to comping, which, when I last looked was the number one request. The program is seriously about keeping things performance oriented and visually simple. Well, mostly. So I was thinking of a way to i...

Re: Arrangement View Battles - any tips?

There’s not a lot to say. Live is keyboard centric. I’ve complained about many things, including the look, but I just finally learned to live with stuff and get on with it. It’s very quick once you are used to it.

Comping's there, make it easy?

I don't know how many users are aware of it, but there is a way to comp in Ableton, it's just not as convenient as with some DAWs. You can see it done here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L1Joyf2fO8g&list=PL-vh9Mzdd6ZCeDFobJ6Gz_Ci6RBIYcmVz&index=3 Basically you put the clip into loop mode using deta...

Re: over 30s lag when monitoring

Those are huge buffers. I hope you mean 30 ms. Try 64 or 128. Make sure you installed the Focusrite driver and open its panel to make settings.

Re: Always a 30 ms latency when audio clip is recorded

MIDI does have lag. I don’t know about USB, but standard serial MIDI was about 5 ms each leg last I heard. Doesn’t seem like it should all add up to 30ms, but...

What’s the latency when you just play the synth?

Re: Rendered Latency

Exactly how are they not in sync? Are you aligning the beginning of the waves? There’s also a track offset function in each tracks mixer section.

Yes, drum rack, though it says instrument rack where the multisamples are. Thanks for the tip but I find it odd that there’s no audition function.

Re: Catalina will break Live 9

The really "weird" thing is that you can run just about any flavor of any other OS on just about any Intel/Mac hardware. I wonder what's going to happen when Apple switches CPUs from Intel as is rumored?

Re: A couple of mastering questions from a rookie

Yeah, originally, mastering was really about limiting frequencies to fit the music on the record and not damage the playback equipment record when being played back. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/RIAA_equalization. These days, it's just generally a term that's been hijacked to mean final mix. Some...

Re: Syncing Live setup (plugs, fx, audio fx rack, own patches) between OSX computers?

I generally keep my stuff on a NAS box, which is about the same and Live will have issues at times. Generally speaking, I don’t think it deals with network slowness very well. I just noticed that a preset was corrupt for no apparent reason so I may give this up again and go back to syncing by hand, ...
