Perhaps he didn't mix the album, but rather someone else who is more comfortable using pro tools. eh...? i have no idea how old you are but, i started editing stuff in PT in the early 1990s... I guess I got misconstrued. i meant, perhaps if another person mixed the album, and thei...

Warrior Bob wrote:Oh, color me mistaken. Glad you found the issue. How much lag was it introducing?

Incidentally, the buffer size is for both input and output. Try making it really huge and you'll experience similar latency when you launch clips.

The lag was HUGE. like 1 second or more.

Re: Help Please. Why is there a Lag???

Yep. Check your buffer latency. It'll be in "Audio" under Preferences. Longer buffer means more latency but more resilience against dropouts when system resources are close to the limit. yea familiar with this, Ive always used this for inputs. This is isnt an input thing. I press play on a clip and...

Re: Need your help. Any idea why im getting audio spikes???

well its audio spikes, not cpu. I had a parallel compression rack at the end that I deleted that seems to have fixed it. Its weird though cuz I have the same rack on all my other tracks.

Need your help. Any idea why im getting audio spikes???

Im getting and huge audio spike just on my drum midi track when I start and stop my song. Im in arrangment view. Im using drum rack with all ableton drum kits. I thought it might have something to do with my send/returns in the drum racks but it doesnt seem to be the case.

any clue?

thanks

What about different bit rate mp3s? Will all bit rates mp3s decode to the same quality wav file?

Re: possible to avoid transcoding if working with an mp3 in live

Just curious how live can go from a compressed file with audio degradeation built in, to a lossless file with sonic clarity. My understanding is that you cant undo an mp3. It can't. What you'll get it a lossless file that preserves all the degradation from the MP3. You don't gain any clarity at all...

Re: possible to avoid transcoding if working with an mp3 in live

insert a mp3, then bounce as wav. shit will sound bad right? Nope, shit will sound the same as you're encoding 'up' and into a lossless format. Bouncing that back to mp3 again is where you might get degradation but how noticeable depends on the rates, encoders, sound etc. Just curious how live can ...
