Re: Creating an album

well you seem to be on the right track for what you want for an outcome. If I understand properly you need to "mix" your tracks one into another like a dj performance so it flows one into the other? you can could do as you said, export the whole thing to a stereo track, then import that back in to c...

Re: TR-8 and Ableton...monitoring issue

I know nothing on the TR-8 but im pretty sure your issue is with the tr-8 and not ableton. Im thinking their must be someking of routing options for the tr-8 and you would have to turn off direct monitoring to the ouputs or something along those lines. Maybe ask in the Rollan forums and refer to use...

Re: power-of-two buffer sizes, is this an improvement?

Well to my knowledge most if not all software were running buffer to "the power of 2" Ableton bieng the odd one out offering variable buffers. My personal experience with previous version of live was that using any buffer size that were not "power of 2" would have stability issues. I ended using "po...

Re: Room Eq wizard and Max for live IR tool - Room measurements

Yeah REQW doesnt work on OSX with firewire cards. I agree with Machinesworking. Treating your room, moving your speaker, etc. before EQ as much as possible. Allthough I do think EQ can help if your limited in your possiblity to treatement possibility and is a good addition to treatement. So I tested...

Re: New soundcard: KA6 or Scarlett 2i4

I never tried either, but I have a focusrite Saffire pro 40 and its pretty solid. Never had any issues with it in a few years. Latency are ok (not on par with RME but usable. The preamps are really good.

I would suggest the Scarlett based on my experience with Focusrite

Re: a weird automation timing issue

Do you have any latency inducing plugin on the track before your automation (or maybe its after  )High latency plugins and automations dont mix in ableton because automation is not compensated. Very well know issue. Lots of people have complained about it...

Room Eq wizard and Max for live IR tool - Room measurements

I have been really noticing the sound of my room latetly and in the process of starting to treat the room and have been doing some measurements. Im on a Mac and RoomEq Wizard works ok for everything except actually recording the impulse response (doesnt work with my saffire pro40, only the internal ...

Re: Vibration pads for monitors, correct positioning, etc...

I agree with Fishmonkey on this one. Odds are his mix his wrong, just because sounds good at his place doesnt mean its good everywhere. Without good monitors in a treated room its a hard to be able to say your mix is "right" with cross referencing with many systems (witch is very time consuming). Yo...
