Re: Electric guitar - Live - Reamp box - Tube Amps?

Yes I have reamped and I agree with you. No plugin can replace a real amp (not yet anyways).

I use the Little labs red eye 3d for reamping. Also doubles as good DI.

Worth the while to interface your computer (or Ipad) with equipement designed for guitar (amps, pedals, etc..)

Re: Multi-channel live looping

Like it was allready said. Yes possible. Now your asking how, what are the pitfalls... In one word LATENCY get a sound with really low latency (RME is your best bet in that departement) For midi foot controller just use you websearch function and find something that works for you. I cant think of an...

Re: Why Compress Drums?

The way it works to "extend" the tail is compresses the initial transient of the attack so theres less difference bettween the attack and the tail and the overall volume is raised by the makeup gain.

Re: Run Mac Ableton projects on Windows running Ableton

Its pretty much a no brainer.

Use the same version of live, collect and save and make sure both computers have all the same plugins. Thats it

Re: What is the absolute best computer for Ableton Live?

Are you recording your guitar with effects from the computer? Because some effects add latency, so if you want to record with effects you want to have the lowest latency possible to start with. If you dont record with monitoring trough effects you can monitor trough virtual mixer with near zero late...

Re: What is the absolute best computer for Ableton Live?

...For personal EDM production it all sounds like overkill, but if setting up a semi commercial studio, then it seems an odd post - such people usually have half an idea of what they want/need etc based upon existing gear, existing production preferences etc. First of all, I just want to thank ever...

Re: What is the absolute best computer for Ableton Live?

So from they way your talking im assuming that budget is not a concern. I would recommend you get the most CPU power you can get in a mac pro. At least 8 gigs of ram. For sound card if latency is a big concern then you for sure need to go with something from RME. the UFX is prob a good choice. Proba...

Re: Which laptop to buy for production and live performance?

The sound card will be more reliable than pc laptops. Wow, now there's a sweeping statement! I thought that Macs used Intel High Definition Audio, the same as PCs. I also thought that Macs were manufactured by Quanta (who claim that "one out of every three laptop PCs in the world" is made by them),...

Re: Which laptop to buy for production and live performance?

There isnt any issues transfering a set from mac to pc as long as the ableton version are the same and the same plugins are on both. Of course collect and save

Re: Upgrade from Macbook Pro 2009 2.53 GHz / 8 gig?

Good choice on the mac mini, I have a mac with the same processor as your old mac and my friend bought the i7 quad mac mini and its got much more cpu then my computer.

I would put once m4l convolution reverb on an empty set and it would run at 20%. He can put 10 of them and not reach 20%

Re: Live is freaking out on my laptop

I had something wierd like that happen to me the other day after trying to run a max for live patch. My user library and everything in place (except the factory packs) just became blank folders. The content was still there but had to relink them manualy. Was kind of pain. Everything back to normal t...

Re: Is using synth presets 'cheating'?

I think its all about getting the results you want. If you find a preset that sounds exactly like you want then thats great. Dont let anyone fool you into thinking its "wrong" or cheating. I just think the issue with preset is most of the time they DONT sound like we want and end up using them becau...

Re: Which laptop to buy for production and live performance?

You cant go wrong with a macbook pro. I suggest the 15" model.

Stability and long life. I have had mine for the almost 5 years now and still working great.
