Re: I think I'm gonna cave to maschine

Not convinced. I've got Battery 3 and an MPC; that'll do me. The B3 library is twice the size of Maschine's, and the hardware, while cool, really doesn't appeal that much. Would prefer a MachineDrum any day of the week! Fair point, although this is a first version so I am sure new stuff will be add...

Cool! I know there are some user accounts already floating around the forum and on the Net, but it would be good to read your thoughts too once you've had a play.

Re: I think I'm gonna cave to maschine

I watched all of the NI videos on Maschine last night. I'll wait for some reviews to come in before making up my mind, but I think Maschine has killed my Machinedrum lust. Also, while the control of Live obviously wont be as good as on the APC, it still looks pretty good with Maschine. Again, need s...

My favourite artist name of recent times has to be: Fuck Buttons :D

They make a great 'noise rock' / electro racket too!

Re: So who's got a Monomachine?

[Crow sits, reading more and more praise heaped upon Elektron products, and slowly gets ever more frustrated that he has wasted so much money on gear in the past and could have started saving for an MD and MnM ages ago :!: :!: :!:      :!: :!: :!: ] Don't despair ...

Re: So who's got a Monomachine?

Soundwave is right on. Parameter Locks are 'automation' in a very general way, but drawing automation lines on a grid could never compare to the tactile nature of using the Elektron machines. There are no other instruments on Earth with such a seamless marriage of sequencer and synth/sampler. And t...

[OT] Where do you buy CD's by electronic artists?

Seems like a stupid question, but the likes of HMV, Play, and Amazon often don't have stuff I want to buy. Maybe new releases, but not back catalogues.

Any recommendations? I'm mainly after stuff on the likes of Warp and Planet Mu.

That's what I was kinda thinking - automation of one form or another.

Re: So who's got a Monomachine?

is it possible to recreate a sort of parameter lock inside an impulse rack for example I am saving for a Machinedrum and Monomachine, because I want to get away from computer based writing. I'll still keep Live for gigs, remixing, and collaborating with people I know that also use Live. But, frankl...

Re: are these guys affiliated with Ableton?

It does seem ridiculous that anyone would use this service... but that said, I've read interviews with DJ's who have an assitant that warps material for them, records stuff from vinyl etc.

Re: so what do you eat??

I rarely eat 'junk' food; never a fast-food joint like CackDonanlds or KFC. Primarily I'll eat vegetarian (as my partner is, and it's easier to cook one meal) but if we're out, I might have a steak or a meaty curry or something. I've gotten into a routine of eating when I need to eat, and eating as...

Re: [OT] Argh! Creative block! *sulk*

@6_o_c_c - serious, dude. There's a lot to be said for going back to basics with gear. I'd love a Machinedrum or something like that (have an MPC500 that I really need to get my head around... Am just too lazy to chop loops at the moment!). What's the DS-10 like? I've got Electroplankton, which is ...

Re: [OT] Argh! Creative block! *sulk*

I am really suffering from a bout of 'I can't get it right' at the moment. I wrote one belting tune that everyone seems to like (posted it on here; positive words about it) and now I can't a) finish any ideas that I start as they just 'peter out' or b) start any decent ideas! It's just not happenin...

Re: MPC 5000 vs. Maschine, BPM, APC40, and Live 8 Suite Boxed.

I just want to get a feel for what people think about hardware drum machines now that software has soo many options for drum and sample arrangement. I'm not commenting on MPC's, but on hardware drum machines in general. I absolutley LOVE hardware drum machines! There is something about sitting down...

Just wanna chime in and say that jacobian is NOT an asshole on the net or in 'real' life. I know him personally. Don't judge a person by the selling price of their monome. I wouldn't judge him by the price of his Monome. I'll judge him by this: @all else; the buy it now price is the price i ...
